Today is Giving Tuesday! We know there are so many AMAZING causes out there who all deserve donations. But Trista Fann Pullaro and I would be forever grateful if you'd consider donating to the annual Holiday Pet Food Drive. No, we're not a non-profit. We're just a couple crazy dog moms who love animals and we support rescues 1000%.

Thirteen years ago, Trista asked if she could put a box at Natural Pet Essentials & Dog Wash, along with a few other locations, to collect food donations for Caring For Creatures in Palmyra, VA and Ring Dog Rescue based out of RVA and helping animals throughout the state. The answer was a resounding yes! And the most awesome thing about it is friends, family, and customers took to this cause in phenomenal, charitable fashion. As costs of goods/food have continued to rise, our mission has become more challenging. Over time, Natural Pet Essentials became the sole location accepting donations and COVID times forced us to go with virtual ways to donate funds instead of purchasing bags in store. So when you donate to Trista's Venmo or the NPE PayPal, we take 100% of those donations and I work closely with my vendors to secure the best deal I can to make your dollars go farther!

So, when you're checking your budget and looking at the amazing charities you'd like to support this Giving Tuesday and throughout the holiday season, please consider sharing part of your donation budget to the holiday pet food drive. Providing high quality food to these organizations means 1) they can feed less and make it last longer and 2) they can reserve their funds for medical care, saving more pets, microchips, vaccines, cleaning supplies, etc.

A million thanks to all who shopped local with us this weekend! Between Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and today, we had so much support, we're glowing!

As Mom & Pop retailers, the excitement of Small Business Saturday Eve is akin to Christmas Eve for children. It's a day we're proud to be a part of. We've worked hard all year long to make it to this day. Another year of staying open - a true accomplishment. It's a day we are fortunate enough to see all the familiar faces of loyal customers like you (if you're in town). We are honored to share this tradition with you and be able to offer sales, discounts, and Kiwi Kash. It's a day to share our gratitude to you, our customers, for your continued support. A day that I, as proprietor, can stand back and welcome you while my team handles the operations. You see, it's less chaotic than Customer Appreciation but equally as awesome!
