So this is kind of a personal post… Early this morning I woke up thinking about my dog who inspired my store. There was this time when he was very old and he took himself on a walk towards the lake, on a very dangerous hairpin turn road… and I found him on this walk, he was OK, but it scared the heck out of me because he never left our yard. It wasn’t long after that when he crossed rainbow bridge.
I still think of this wonderful dog actually very often when I’m in the store and definitely when I’m on the water.
What was so strange about waking up thinking about him was today is October 27… and found out it is Dia de los Muertos… which is a moment set aside for the beloved pets, who once filled our hearts with unconditional love. It is believed that on this night, their spirits return to the places and people they cherished, even if only for a moment.
If you feel a warm presence near you today or tonight, you know that someone special has come to visit.
It is tradition to remember your pets with their favorite toys treats photos, colors, candles anything you can think of to hold their memory close. And just remember the joy they brought into your life.
Grief doesn’t end just because your pet leaves the earth, love doesn’t end either. Today is for remembering the special bond shared was real, meaningful, and deserves to be honored… Not just for tonight but for always.
