It’s $5 Friday and we could really use some help with vet bills! Today was a big day with four of our residents needing expensive care and assessments. Jarjar had dental work done and little Miles needed a biopsy to diagnose an ongoing skin issue. Bonnie had another electroacupuncture treatment to help with inflammation, pain control, and hopefully stimulate her atrophied muscles. And little Phoenix was seen because she has had a few incidents where she seemed to choke on the supplemental grain that she will get until she is a year old. The vet feels there’s nothing wrong with her, she’s just eating too fast and that soaking her food will slow her down and resolve the issue.

So that’s a lot for one day! We’d be so grateful if you would consider chipping in $5 today so we can keep doing our best to make sure our special residents are happy and healthy. 🥰 https://donorbox.org/mmfs-donate

Ice is one of our 19 horses at MMFS. He was used as a dressage horse until his anxiety got so bad that he became hard to handle. The show world for horses can be very hard/impossible for a horse like Ice. He struggles even daily at the Sanctuary with transitions of other horses around him. Ice arrived full of horrendous stomach ulcers, which of course have been treated, and we keep him on ulcer prevention at all times. Many people relate to his uneasiness and his anxiety when they come to visit the sanctuary. We do not always understand or accept anxiety or uneasiness in animals. This can lead to bad things eventually happening to that animal for not fitting into a particular role. This is why Sanctuary is important for a horse like Ice.

We celebrate sweet Tom who we recently lost. He was such a magnificent Turkey who made himself known, but generally he behaved quite well. We love you sweet boy, and we will always remember you. RIP....

It was so amazing to be able to participate in Vermont’s first ! We really have enjoyed talking to so many people and spreading the word about Merrymac Farm Sanctuary, not to mention enjoying so many vegan yummies!!!
