Happy June! We celebrate summer by allowing our animals to have access to beautiful pasture. Babette is a 12 year old Highlander who came to us from Connecticut. She had lost her pasture mate and as an elderly cow she needed a companion. She spends her days with Savanna who is a small Highland cross from Virginia. Both are huge fans of FIG NEWTONS!!

When you run an organization, you do a little bit of everything from writing a thank you note to figuring out the dosing of pig dewormers and sheep dewormers with your staff. Planning the schedule of speakers for your college interns and looking at staff scheduling for the following week...... hoping donations are coming in is always a worry....... Our 2026 summer interns are already learning a lot and getting valuable insight into animal wellness. Among many other activities this week they were able to learn from our horse vet Dr. Alex Brunet as she did a dental exam and took foot x-rays on our retired racehorse Tiz.
