A message from Garrett, co-founder of Valhalla Vermont, on placing this project on pause for the foreseeable future and lessons learned while surrounded by inspiring individuals.

----

Two years ago, myself, Alex, Josiah and Travis Berg set out to provide a space for both digital nomads and those interested in soil restoration & organic agriculture. Located on a beautiful 62 acre piece of land surrounded by vineyards and lavender fields, the space was filled with talk from digital media to permaculture to social entrepreneurship to self-development. An extremely creative space to be in for sure. Our intention was to learn how to live more environmentally responsible. After we learn that pollution is a problem on Facebook, for example; how do we fix it? How does someone learn how to grow food, cut down on “food miles” or create content that brings awareness to a problem?

We helped answer those questions and more. We were part of a larger web of individuals around the world looking to create change. Some might call it idealistic - but I can’t think of a better way to spend my time then “trying to do a little (or a lot of) good; for myself, community, nation, world.”

Moving forward the team has decided to pursue other ventures, projects and locations. This was a group decision and all with love. As time changes, sometimes interests or highest excitements do as well. Whether it is digital media, regenerative agriculture, soil ecology, wellness coaching or DJing in front of thousands; we still have each others back as we continue to follow our own areas of bliss.

Although the projected is ending, I wouldn’t go back and change a thing. Each person impacted through this project will continue working on solutions and being of service to a form of social good.

Thank you all for the support and following along in this project. It has granted so many lessons that I am forever grateful for.

A special thank you to all those involved with the project including Alexandria, Josiah, Travis, Jeff, Matthew, Dean, John, Dee, Jess, and more.

If this project had an impact on you. If you have thoughts on what was created. We would love to hear it in the comments.

Who knows what the future holds for Valhalla Vermont but for now it will be on pause.

We hope to see more environmental and social entrepreneurial initiatives continue to spark and grow. The world needs it.

Appreciate all the support, experiences, individuals that rolled through and lessons learned

Always with love. Garrett

We had some feral sunflowers come up in the vegetable garden we planted this spring
At one time a portion of the land here was used to grow sunflowers to make sunflower oil
From being a dairy farm at one time it’s fascinating to see how the history of the land has shaped what is happening day to day. @ Valhalla Vermont

The Italian dinner we hosted last Saturday was both successful and delicious, capiche?

The weather is starting to turn and although we are stoked for fall that means snow is right around the corner. If you would like to come visit while the sun is still shining bright... shoot us a message and let’s set up a time to chat about regeneration, sustainability tips and share a story around the fire.

Will be announcing more events soon. Stay tuned, ya dig?

Beyond pictures of picking up litter, starting seeds, turning compost and advice for decreasing plastic consumption, we want to shed light on the fact that we are a community. One where you hope to wake up to a little coffee left in the pot, a good conversation in the afternoon and time to speak of the day’s win (while eyes peak down at the delish dish about to be consumed for dinner). There is a thousands things you could do right now to live more sustainably but this post isn’t about that. Let these words be a reminder of kindness to others and gratitude for the ability to make an impact. Even if it’s just a little.
