Happy International Cat Day! 🐈💛

We almost let this very important day sneak past us… and we’re pretty sure our feline patients would never forgive us!

So, of course, we had to celebrate with one of our own — Handsome, aka BBQ! 🐾 Many of you probably recognize this face from your visits to the clinic… and if you know BBQ, you know he’s usually up to some kind of mischief…

Now we want to see YOUR cats! 📸
Drop a photo in the comments and tell us their name (and what kind of mischief they’re known for!) 😉

📣 Appointment Scheduling Reminder 📣

We know many of you are disappointed and frustrated if you were unable to secure an appointment today. We truly understand how discouraging it is to spend time filling out your information only to find that the appointment is no longer available.

To help put today's demand into perspective, we received 55 appointment requests within the first 6 minutes 😅 and by 12:20pm, we already had 96 pending requests...

As a small nonprofit clinic, we are only one organization serving thousands of pets each year. In addition to caring for privately owned pets, we also work closely with 15+ animal shelters and rescue organizations throughout West Virginia, and operate one of the state's most accessible Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs for community cats.

Unfortunately, the demand for affordable veterinary care continues to far exceed the number of appointments any single clinic can provide.

We continue to receive many questions about our online scheduling system. The appointment portal is managed by a third-party software company, and we ** do not have control over how the system processes appointment requests. ** Multiple people may be allowed to select the same appointment slot at the same time, but the appointment is ultimately secured by the first person who completes the entire booking process. If another client finishes first, the remaining users will receive a message that the appointment is no longer available.

While we understand this experience can be frustrating, we want to assure you that the scheduling system is functioning correctly, and you are not the only person experiencing this issue. We have already contacted our software provider to discuss whether there are improvements they can make before future scheduling releases. Until then, we are unfortunately unable to change how the booking process works.

Please also remember to continue checking our website regularly. ** If another client cancels their appointment, that opening becomes available online immediately. **

Most importantly, we kindly ask that everyone treat our staff with patience and kindness. Our team has no control over the software or the overwhelming demand for appointments, and they are working incredibly hard to help as many pets and families as possible every single day!

If you are unable to secure an appointment with us in a timely manner, we encourage you to contact one of these other lower cost spay/neuter providers:

📣 August Spay/Neuter Appointments 📣

Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback on our new scheduling system. As promised, we'll continue learning and making adjustments as we go!

🗓 Wednesday, June 29, 2026
⏰ 12:00 PM (Noon)

All available August spay/neuter appointments will be released online through our website on a first come, first serve basis.

A FEW IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
• If you are unable to secure an appointment, please continue checking the website regularly. If another client cancels or reschedules, that appointment will automatically become available online in real-time.
• If you are attempting to book an appointment online, please understand that another client may be trying to reserve that exact same appointment slot at the same time. Unfortunately, whichever client completes the booking process first will secure the appointment, and the system will automatically cancel the duplicate request. This is an automated feature of our scheduling software and is not something our staff can manually control.
• Please allow up to 72 business hours for appointment approval. Receiving a pending appointment request does not guarantee the appointment until it has been reviewed and approved by staff.

⭐️ To keep our phone lines available for surgery patient owners and clients currently in the clinic, we kindly ask that scheduling questions be directed to [email protected] whenever possible.

PLEASE READ ALL the graphic below carefully for additional scheduling details, deposits, approval times, and surgery information. ⬇️

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue working to improve access to affordable spay/neuter services throughout our community. 💜🐾
