Does Anyone Remember Y2K?

This is a humorous dog training flyer that I made and had distributed in 1999. I made lots of flyers in those days and this one is my absolute favorite! And it generated lots of calls!

Did you notice that there's no website listed? Websites weren't commonly used yet. In those days all that was available was advertising in "the yellow pages" and posting flyers.

Also, notice that there isn't an email address. The only way find out about my dog training services was to call me (on my landline) and ask me.

Progress aside, this was a very cool flyer!

A Happy Boykin Spaniel Puppy Using His Nose!

This is Enzo. He's a puppy I'm raising for a friend of mine. In addition to "working," we play a lot of fetch, and I often throw in some scent work at the end of a game. That's what we did in this video.

Watch at the end when he's looking for the ball, hits the scent, and automatically turns into the wind, follows it to its source, and nabs the ball. It's hard to believe I get paid for fooling around with puppies this cool!

Escaped Dogs Captured!

I looked out my window this morning and saw these two dogs dashing across my property at a dead run. Before I could get outside, they were gone — completely out of sight. If we were in town, I’d say they were about a block away, already in the woods.

I yelled loudly, and sure enough, they came back.

I grabbed a couple of dog treats, lured them in close enough, got leashes on them, and called their owner using the tag on the Great Dane’s collar. The owners came to pick them up shortly after.

I’ve got a great kennel, but most dogs wait for their owners to bring them instead of showing up on their own!

Maybe they’ll talk their owners into signing up for one of our obedience classes!

I'm helping a friend raise this puppy. He's a Boykin Spaniel named Enzo. In this video he's eight weeks old and getting his first "lesson" in fetching.
