📢 INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY – SOCIAL WORK STUDENTS! 🎓

Coalfield Family Services is seeking a motivated Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or Master of Social Work (MSW) student who has an interest in policy development, program planning, and community services!

We are currently in the early stages of developing an exciting new program and would love to bring an intern on board to help us move the planning and development process forward.

This is a unique opportunity for a social work student who wants to gain real-world experience beyond traditional direct client services and learn what goes into creating a new program from the ground up.

📚 WHAT YOU COULD LEARN & EXPERIENCE:

✅ Policy Development: Researching, drafting, and developing organizational policies and procedures.

✅ Program Development: Learning how to take a program from an initial idea through planning, development, and implementation.

✅ Regulatory Compliance: Researching state and federal regulations, licensing requirements, and program approval processes.

✅ Grant Research & Funding: Exploring potential funding sources, grants, and financial sustainability.

✅ Community Needs Assessments: Identifying service gaps and determining how a new program can better serve individuals and families.

✅ Program Administration: Gaining firsthand experience in the administrative and operational side of a behavioral health and social services organization.

✅ Professional Collaboration: Working alongside experienced professionals to develop a program designed to meet community needs.

📍 Location: Huntington, WV Area

I am looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and dependable nanny/housekeeper to help care for my 2½-year-old daughter and assist with general household cleaning and organization.

📅 SCHEDULE:

* 2 days per week, regularly scheduled.
* Hours may be 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, depending on the day.
* Must have flexibility to cover additional shifts as needed when our other nanny/housekeeper, who works the remaining three weekdays, is sick or otherwise unavailable.

🧸 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Providing attentive, loving, and responsible care for my daughter.
* Engaging her in age-appropriate play, learning activities, and developmental activities.
* Preparing meals, feeding, changing, and assisting with her daily routine.
* General housekeeping, including dishes, sweeping, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, and organizing.
* Taking my daughter to approved activities, outings, and playdates as needed.
* Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized home.

✅ REQUIREMENTS:

* Must pass a criminal background check.
* Must pass an abuse and neglect background check.
* Must pass a drug screening.
* Must be reliable, trustworthy, patient, and genuinely good with young children.
* Must have dependable transportation and be willing and able to transport my daughter to activities when necessary.
* Must be comfortable balancing childcare responsibilities with housekeeping duties.
* Previous childcare or nanny experience is preferred.

📹 IMPORTANT — HOME CAMERAS:

For my daughter’s safety and security, we have cameras throughout the common areas of our home, including my daughter’s bedroom. Applicants must be comfortable working in a home with cameras.

There are NO cameras in bathrooms or any other bedrooms besides my daughter’s.

I’m looking for someone who will treat my daughter with kindness, patience, and care while also taking initiative to keep the house clean and organized. Reliability is extremely important, as I need someone I can count on to show up as scheduled.

Anyone looking for part-time evening and weekend hour work for extra income? The hours are flexible and would normally start after 3 pm. Some days you would be done by 6-7 pm and other days might be later but you would know in advance as you would either accept or reject a client.

You must have reliable transportation, a clean criminal record and a clean CPS/APS record check for abuse and neglect. High School Diploma or GED required.

This is 1099 work so considered self employed for tax purposes.

🏡 UPDATE ON OUR SOBER LIVING FACILITY PLANS

We wanted to provide everyone with an update regarding the nearly 12,000-square-foot facility we had been considering purchasing and converting into a sober living community.

Unfortunately, that particular property is no longer an option. Despite our interest in moving forward, we were unable to come anywhere close to reaching a purchase price that both parties could agree upon.

While this is disappointing, we are not giving up on our goal of establishing a sober living community.

We will continue exploring other properties and opportunities. However, due to the various regulations, licensing requirements, building codes, and other limitations associated with operating a sober living facility, our options are somewhat limited. Not every property is suitable for this type of program, even when the size and location seem ideal.

Our goal has always been to create a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for individuals working toward long-term recovery, and we are not willing to compromise on those standards just to secure a location.

Sometimes the right opportunity takes a little longer to find, and that’s okay.

We appreciate everyone’s continued interest and support. We will keep you updated as we explore other possibilities!
