Please be aware of this. Many of you may already know. But in the last few years, many old school vets have been sold out to big box companies. I would strongly urge you to seek out those trusted old school vets out there. They're still out there! My vet does not even do computer records, everything is done by hand. They are a dying breed. Please seek them out, if possible. I know this is becoming harder to do in the larger cities. Here is just one article about it with some valuable information, also, please do your own research. Don't be afraid to call around and say, hey, how much do you charge for a puppy exam and first shots. The only downfall is that many of these small old school vets do not take insurance. But the quality of care you receive and the much lower cost in visits will far outweigh the difference. I have two vets that I use, that way if one is not available, I have another option, since most times I need help, it's an emergency. I love my small old school vets! I could not raise these babies without them! Please help support them when possible. Here is a link that you can search your city that shows all the private vets.
