Why brachycephalic breeds are at higher risk for heat stroke?
Breeds like Bulldogs, French Bulldogs, Pugs, Boston Terriers, Shih Tzus, and Pekingese are considered brachycephalic (short-nosed) breeds. Their unique anatomy makes it harder for them to cool themselves through panting, putting them at a much higher risk for heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
