Angus & Friends Angus & Friends is a 501(c)(3) non-profit in Castro Valley, CA dedicated to helping feral cats.

Angus & Friends Cat Rescue is a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2022. Angus & Friends works collaboratively with other groups to do Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), and to find loving homes for as many stray cats and kittens as possible. We are passionate about the cats, and about educating the public about ways to help the cats and kittens that cross their paths with the goal of reducing the numbers

of community cats on the streets. Our organization is dedicated to the memory of Angus, a 15-year-old orange tabby who was found on death's door by people who lived in his neighborhood who assumed he had a home. He didn't, but probably did at one time, because he turned out to be friendly, though very sick. Efforts were made to save him, but he ultimately had to be put down because he was not recovering after a blood transfusion due to flea anemia. Our goal is to help as many homeless cats and kittens as possible to get off the mean streets and place them in new loving, furrever homes.

This sweet guy loves to cuddle and purr, though he’s not a fan of being picked up. He’s great with dogs and other cats, making him an easy addition to a pet-friendly home.

Raider was born around April 2017 and is ready to spend his golden years feeling safe and loved.

Beau is a stunning, affectionate young adult kitty with a gentle heart and a love for human connection.

Here’s what our Director, Deborah, had to say about him:

“Beau was found sick and alone on a sidewalk in a park. A kind passerby rushed him to VEG—our wonderful ER partners in San Ramon—where he was treated for a high fever of unknown origin. We brought him in for supportive care, and thankfully, he made a full recovery.”

Born around May 2023, Beau is likely a dominant male, so we think he’d do best as an only cat or possibly with a confident young female.

Beau adores affection—he soaks up kisses and gentle pets like he’s making up for lost time. After all he’s endured, we can’t imagine putting him back on the streets. He deserves an indoor-only home where he’ll be loved and safe for the rest of his life.

It’s likely Beau came from a colony where he was never neutered or cared for. We’re so grateful he’s finally getting the second chance he deserves. 🧡

Hi, I’m Lucky—and I truly live up to my name! I was rescued from life on the streets, and while I’m still a bit shy, I’m slowly learning that people can be kind.

I’m bonded with my best friend Miesha, a beautiful young black kitty. I feel much more confident when she’s by my side, so we’re looking for a forever home together. 💕

We’re hoping to find a calm, adults-only home where we can settle in at our own pace—no other cats, dogs, or children, please.

FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED URGENTLY: Meet Caspian, a very sweet stray kitty who has been living outside an apartment complex, being fed and cared for by a kind neighbor. We’re looking for a foster or adopter who can help us get Caspian safely indoors.

Caspian is friendly and talkative, and he knows his name -- he responds to “Caspi!" He clearly was someone’s pet in the past as he loves human attention. He does great with dogs (he follows the neighbor around when she walks her dogs); we don’t know if he has been around children. He may be a bit skittish at first and will need time to adjust to a new home.

Caspian's guardian shares, "He is one of the sweetest kitties I’ve ever met! He is shy at first but when he opens up he shows how much he loves affection. He runs to greet you and loves to rub on your legs and follow you around. Caspian purrs when he eats and “kneads” his paws on the ground with happiness when you talk to him. He is very playful and loves toys!

I was born in September 2024, and I’m good with children, dogs, other cats & even got along great with the large Flemish rabbit in my previous foster home! I'm hoping to be adopted with my friend Cooper, but we would be okay being adopted separately.

Dino, Frankie, Nancy, Patsy & Sammy — five adorable 11-week-old kittens — need your help right now.

Due to unexpected health issues, their current foster can no longer care for them, and they must be moved immediately to a safe, stable environment.

We’re urgently seeking experienced fosters who can take:
🐾 2–3 kittens
🐾 Or even all 5!

We’ll handle trapping and transport — a volunteer is standing by and ready to assist the moment a foster is secured.
