Something out of the blue happened yesterday for special needs girl Oakley!

Oakley was born last August to Layne and Mox, and she was 1 of 10 puppies! Right away I noticed something was wrong with her back leg. She did not have the strength to pull her legs together to walk. As she grew and got stronger she taught herself how to use her deformity and learned to walk and run! When she went into the vet for an exam, he said she had a been born without a kneecap in her back leg. He said we could do an expensive reconstructive surgery with an orthopedic surgeon, or let her live her best life. When he was manipulating her leg, he said it was not causing her any pain. If anything she may have some arthritis in her knee as she gets older.

Knowing how special Oakley was, I was scared to list her. I wasn’t sure if anyone could love her the way I did!

Yesterday I received a message asking if I had any corgis available. When I said I did not have anything yet, but maybe this summer I would. She went on to say she was hoping for a dog sooner, and she thought she had found one, but it turned out to be a scam! All too common on these social media sites. I decided to mention Oakley. She was immediately intrigued with her and her story and scheduled a meet and greet right away. Needless to say, I’ve learned that people can love special needs dogs, and see nothing wrong with them. Now Oakley gets to go to work with her new mom every single day. She gets to go on daily car rides, and meet all kinds of new people. Oakley waited 8 long months for her turn to find her person. It was completely unexpected, but so happy for this little lady!! (This is a photo of Oakley in her chair at work with her mom!)

Decided to bring the Merle’s back! Not just standard coat Merle, but full fluffy Merle! Maddyx has one full blue eye and and her other eye is partial blue as well! She is a red sable Merle American (pembroke/cardigan) full fluffy corgi! She is full of sass, and in her free time enjoys chasing and biting ankles! She has ALOT of fluffy fur already, so she may be a super fluff like Nyxon!

I copied this from one of my friends who breeds cardigan welsh corgis. I absolutely support what she said! It’s really quite annoying to have to deal with people who try and bully you into reducing the price of a dog or puppy. The price is the price unless I offer to reduce it.

This is a simple psa post. I am only posting this due to the amount of messages I've gotten from people now.

Corgis are NOT low end dogs. You will not find a well bred corgi for a low end number. If you are certain that you will, you are not bringing home a well bred dog from an ethical breeder. Especially if the only thing you claim to the need the dog for, is an emotional support or a "friend" for your other dogs.

No breeder in their right mind, will let their pups, or adults go to a home for less than they are worth. Not to mention as a "friend" or "emotional support" without valid proof, and vetting.

Messaging a breeder and stating that you can and will find a corgi for less than 3 digits, and the breeder letting you know you will not in fact find one of good quality for less than that, is well.. insane. Then blocking a breeder and stating that giving facts is not a good S a l e s move, is well.. ridiculous, when said breeders recommended other options, or to save up.

Our dogs are not only our life, they are what drives us. We spend time. So much time researching, pairing, vetting, etc. To make sure we breed the healthiest if pups. We spend am ungodly amount of recourses to ensure pregnant goes, that there is an emergency fund in place, should the pregnancy or whelping go south. Not to mention the resources and time spent raising the pups, socializing, working with them, vetting potential new families, etc.

A few of these said people were previous breeders and claim to know several who will have lower digit dogs.

If you were "once" a breeder and looking for a dog to help you emotionally, especially a female.. you have no intention of following through on a contract, let alone only being a support to you or your other animals.

Please beware of potential people like this. They do not have good intentions, nor do they actually understand or want to accept facts.
