Casper Humane Society We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill animal shelter. Proudly serving our community for more than 75 years.

We are a non-profit, no-kill shelter in Casper, Wyoming. We have been a part of our community for over 65 years. As a non-profit, we do not receive any government funding and rely solely on the support of donors. Our role in the community is very important and while many people don't know the extent of our work, on any given day, we are home to more than 100 animals ranging from dogs and cats to guinea pigs, rats, reptiles, and birds. Not only do we provide basic care such as feeding and cleaning their living space, it is important to us that our animals receive spaying/neutering, vaccines, deworming, and microchipping, socialization, exercise, positive stimulation, training, and extensive vet care. Our time and attention is necessary to ensure our standards are met and our animals remain happy, healthy, and confident as they search for their new homes. On average, we find homes for nearly 500 animals every year. Our devotion to finding the best placement for each individual enables our ability to maintain a changing population and continue helping others in need. It is our daily goal to ensure animals that come into our care are healthy or nursed back to health and feel love and comfort during a vulnerable time in their lives, with the help of our volunteers alongside our staff, we are able to make this possible. Heart be still! 😍

Pokey is stirring up all of the feelings in our hearts. Like, do we really need to type every reason why you should pick him? Is this attentive expression not enough? Can you not feel the good vibes through those beautiful eyes staring directly into your soul? 👀 This 1 year old Border Collie is truly a divine being. Understand this and this alone: his personality is as magical as he appears, and you really don't want to sleep on this precious A N G E L. Pokey loves people, and he needs someone who can match his energy, which is, you guessed it, an insane amount. The drive in one lil' dog is truly remarkable, and even though we tend to get tired out significantly sooner than he does, the grind must continue for our fabulously agile and swift friend. 🫡 He has no experience with livestock/working, so a spacious play yard where he can run, play with his jolly ball, and engage vigorously with his people is a must. He is also a firm believer in giving your bestie plenty of walkies, and let's be honest with ourselves... that face is kinda hard to say no to. 🥲 Long story short, humongous emphasis on: if you think you can shape this dog to be a couch potato, you are dead wrong, and he just isn't the one for you. Pokey deserves an experienced family who understands his breed and is devoted to his needs the same way he will devote himself to being your greatest entertainer. If you can agree to his terms and conditions, well, you're going to have the sweetest, funniest, and most impressive companion you will ever know. 💖 Pokey does great with most other dogs (if they can keep up, son!) and has done well meeting older kids. We haven't seen him with small kiddos, and he didn't do great on his cat test. BUT if you're an adventurous dog lover, then this guy was definitely made for you!

Say hello to the dog of the hour. The scruffy prince. The one and only, original Dizzy dog. 🔥

First off, he's ready to join the fam for all of the holiday festivities this season. If you think he's adorable as a pumpkin, imagine what he can look like in November and December. 👀 We aren't quite sure what breed Dizzy is, but we're guessing Terrier mixed with something perfect? That sounds about right. We estimate he is only around 1 year old; let us tell ya, he is full of rejuvenating energy, and beneath his 60lb exterior is a puppy living his life for the first time. 🥹 He has more to learn (we can relate), but he's aced his sit command and walks on his leash like a gentleman. We can already picture just how fabulous he will be with more individualized care, attention, and consistency from a devoted hand. Like any young dog, he just needs positive outlets and proper guidance. That's where you come in. 🤝 Dizzy really enjoys his outings. Walks, playing in the yard, car rides, and experiencing the great gift of nature. Heavy on that part. Seeing the world is so exciting, and we'd be lying if we said it doesn't suit him (slay, nature master, slay). He was made to be kissed by the sun and be a loyal adventure buddy. Speaking of loyal, he is very people oriented. Wherever you are is where he wants to be, and what a privilege. ✨ There is so much love inside his innocent heart; he's got lots of kisses to give, beds to hog, and many years ahead of being the friend you always needed. We haven't seen him with small children, but due to his energy, we believe older kiddos who can be part of his learning journey and keep up with his desire to play will be best. He has done well meeting other dogs similar in size, but will do best in a home without cats. All in all, this big lug is truly something special, and he deserves to be treated as such every day forward, from here on out (and, does he smell another visit to Unleashed Dog Bakery with his new crew in the near future?!). 💝

Here's a little something to think about... BUNNIES. ✨

Say hello to Queen Fluffington and Princess Nibbles. Our elegant, rubenesque Rex girlies who are looking for an experienced owner and a comfortable home together. 💕 Bonded doesn't begin to explain the dynamic these two have. Queenie is little Princessa's mom, and they both go out of their way to keep each other safe, protected, and at ease. Mom is more outgoing than her baby. Truth be told, Princess is as bold as her perfect, silky coat, but you're gonna love her! 😙 There is a lot of power in being consistent and committed. They've come around to the idea of being picked up so they can get out to stretch their legs, and they no longer question being petted. With a family who is dedicated to their needs, we have no doubt they will continue to blossom gracefully and be great companions. You already know they deserve your time, energy, affection, and of course, plenty of hay and fresh veggies to keep these little buns healthy and plump, just the way they are meant to be. A large, pristine enclosure and the ability to roam and explore are ideal. Girls just want to have fun, and they're no exception. 🙌 Queen Fluffington is 2 years old; Princess Nibbles is 6 months old. With great care, they have many years ahead, keeping your home bouncy, bubbly, and fabulous! If you know a thing or two about rabbits and have a lot of room in your home and heart, we highly recommend stopping by to meet this dream team.

Ok, cat lovers. Brace yourselves. 😮‍💨

These majestic felines are Natalie and Sofia. A fabulous pair of 6 month old, heterochromia sissies. If the pictures tug at your heartstrings, just wait until you meet them. ✨ Natalie is a social butterfly. She'll be the first to meet you, greet you, chirp, and purr for attention. Let's get one thing straight right now: you cannot deny this regal queen the love she KNOWS she is owed. That is a crime; we do not condone it, and let's be real, that face is seriously irresistible. 😇 Sofia is equally adorable, but under that luxurious coat and perfectly tufted ears is a strong, independent girly. She values her one on one time, but has a tendency to fill her schedule with window gazing and, frankly, more interesting places to be. But don't get it twisted, she deserves to be admired and doted on just as much as her sister. The sass comes naturally, and you have to appreciate her self advocacy (slay, girl). 🙌 They both will bring different types of companionship to their new home; regardless, it will be memorable, cherishable, and they have many years ahead being your most prized besties! It's not a requirement to adopt them together, but the only thing better than one playful kitty is two, and it would bring a little joy to our hearts seeing them continue life’s journey together. 😽 Natalie and Sofia both do well with kiddos, cats, and passed their dog test with flying colors. All they need now is a devoted family!

ADOPTED!!!

Umm... can we talk about them for a second? 😍

Chuey and Chula are 9 and 7 year old Shih Tzus looking for a very special home. They have spent the majority of their lives together, and we plan to keep it that way. No ifs, ands, or buts. Periodt. 👏 They're quick to swoop in and steal your heart with their typical Shih Tzu ways. Chuey thinks he's the toughest dog on the block. Is he wrong? Probably not. But does he have the physical capability to be billy bad@$$? Well, in his mind, yes. Yes, he does. Chula is a precious angel, but don't mistake it for weakness. She knows how to hold it down, and she'll look good doing it (slay). 😎 Long story short, this bonded pair will do best integrating into a new home where it's just the two of them (Chuey has great disdain for cats as well), and that's the way they like it! What's important to keep in mind is all of the laughter and love that will radiate from their presence. They're mature, but there's a lot of playful energy tucked away, and they're ready to put it to good use with a loving family. 🫶 They value their walkies and exploring the grassy play yards. Chuey carries his toys around with great pride. Next to his people, stuffies are his most prized possessions. Chula is just excited to be around. Her smile lights up a room, and she gives a special little happy dance when the mood strikes. They both enjoy a good cuddle sesh, but she'll be your #1 lapper, no questions asked. Their loyalty and devotion will keep their new home balanced, fun, and full of good vibes. If you have a little room for 2, we promise giving them a chance will be the best choice you've ever made. 🤍

ADOPTED!!!

We're all just living in a big world... Gumball's world. ✨

Say hello to our magnificent little feline, Gumball. Gumby. Gumberson. Or whatever else strikes your fancy. He's 11 weeks old, and yes, he really is THAT adorable. 😭 He came to us as an orphan; at the time, we anticipated he was barely 2 weeks old, and the rest is history. He found his place in foster with our Shelter Manager, and today he is strong, acrobatic, a crab walking professional, and quite possibly the silliest guy in town, bar none. 💪 He loves to zoom through the house, and you better get in the habit of keeping your toes safe because our dude is a nibbler. Standing around? Watch it. Laying in bed? Why I oughta. Trying to put on your shoes? You guessed it. It may be one of his favorite hobbies, next to hunting his toys, but it holds nothing when it comes to chasing around other cats. He's only 3lbs but he's packing 2 tons of confidence and playful energy. Honestly, you gotta admire it. 😻 There's really only one thing in this world that he loves more than being your favorite menace, and that's nappy and cuddle time. The comfort he finds in a plush bed will make you envious every morning, but it's the way he buries his head under your chin and purrs in your ear that will really make you question where the heck he has been all your life. 🥹 Don't worry, though. He's here now and he's ready to be your bestie. Gumball has been raised around kids, cats, and large dogs. There's no doubt he'll settle in and claim your home as his oyster!
