We are home to more than 100 animals ranging from dogs and cats to guinea pigs, rats, reptiles, and birds. We have been a part of our community for over 65 years. Our role in the community is very important and while many people don't know the extent of our work, on any given day, we are home to mor

e than 100 animals ranging from dogs and cats to guinea pigs, rats, reptiles, and birds. Not only do we provide basic care such as feeding and cleaning their living space, it is important to us that our animals receive spaying/neutering, vaccines, deworming, and microchipping, socialization, exercise, positive stimulation, training, and extensive vet care. Our time and attention is necessary to ensure our standards are met and our animals remain happy, healthy, and confident as they search for their new homes. On average, we find homes for nearly 500 animals every year. Our devotion to finding the best placement for each individual enables our ability to maintain a changing population and continue helping others in need. It is our daily goal to ensure animals that come into our care are healthy or nursed back to health and feel love and comfort during a vulnerable time in their lives, with the help of our volunteers alongside our staff, we are able to make this possible. "Our mission is to provide shelter, medical care, and love and to find quality homes for animals in our care. To educate the community about the humane treatment and the importance of spay/neuter and vaccination of animals"

Now that all the festivity dust has settled, let's introduce you to the little rabbit you never knew you needed. Your very own Bunny Bestie, if you will. โœจ Leaper is thought to be about 2 years old. And let us tell ya, this little Rex is all about social gatherings and quality time. He needs a devoted friend, a real, solid family, someone who will engage, play, and provide him with all of the care that comes with having such a velvety, luxurious, irresistible, inquisitive, affectionate, teeny, tiny companion. ๐Ÿฅน His curiosity is infectious, and we know he will bring a lot of joy to his new home with all of his prancing and tripod stance. Come on, look at how cool and strong he is! Leaper is very docile, laid-back, and we know he will fit in nicely with a home of all ages (we know, we say it all the time, but respect is imperative from the littles). He wants nothing more than to be doted on; he'll hop right into your lap if he must. Oh, and did we mention he is litter box trained? ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Kick off the new year with an open heart. If you've been wishing for a bouncing, baby, bunny to bring some light to your life, we think Leaper may be just the guy for you! The shelter will be open from 12 pm - 5 pm tomorrow. ๐Ÿซถ

Santa's special reindeer want to remind you all that we will be open from 12 pm to 4 pm tomorrow. โœจ (What, no cats with antlers?! Well, they gave us an ultimatum: violence or seeing our families again...)

We have so many amazing dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and even a rabbit, waiting for loving families and cozy homes (and yes, we've included our sweet Dash, AGAIN, because we are determined to find him a family ๐Ÿ˜ญ). If you have some free time before kicking off your holiday celebrations, stop by, stay awhile, meet the companion of your dreams, and give a deserving animal the chance they deserve.

Hi everyone.

We wanted to take the time to give a heart-wrenching update on our sweet friend, Flubber. A few days ago, we noticed something was off, and upon taking his temperature, Flubber had a fever of 104. He received an antibiotic injection, and we continued to monitor him and check his temperature regularly. After 24 hours with no prevail, we sought emergency medical care. After a series of tests and bloodwork, it was determined that the complications he was experiencing were likely due to FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), a fatal viral disease in cats, caused by a mutated feline coronavirus.

There were many concerns regarding Flubberโ€™s wellness: above all, his fever was unbreakable, which would eventually damage and harm his organs and function, leading to pain, suffering, and ultimately death. Because we love Flubber, humane euthanasia was the most suitable option to ensure he left this world with dignity.

It's not often we post about our losses. We want all of you to experience the uplifting side of our work and the love shared with our animals, but this is the other side of our lives. A reality that many wouldnโ€™t think twice about. We try hard, love hard, and sometimes we lose hard. We will always do everything humanly possible to give our animals a chance, and sadly, we are not always met with the outcome we wish for. And boy, does that hit hard.

So, hereโ€™s to Flubber. Our king of cheeks. A gentle tomcat we are thankful crossed our path, impacted our staff with his welcoming demeanor, and brought warmth to our lives that will be deeply missed. He may not have found a home outside of the shelter, but he had a family, and we hope he felt all of our love and knows that if we had to do it all over again, knowing we will experience the same heartbreak, we would.

We love you, Flubber. You matter. You are important. And, we hope wherever you are, you are receiving all of the hugs your precious heart yearned for, forever and ever. ๐Ÿ’›

Ok guys, hear us out... It's illegal to own a reindeer in Wyoming, right? So how about the next best thing? That's right, it's Dash! ๐Ÿค— He's looking absolutely splendid, and you'd be surprised how much a pair of antlers can change a (ridicuously handsome) dog. Between his exceptional height and long scrawny legs, we could hardly tell the difference. Sublime holiday adaptation, Dash, sublime! ๐ŸคŒ

This is our last chance to try and get Dash his most special Christmas gift of all, a devoted family and warm home. ๐Ÿฅน He is such a lover, and even though he's faced a lot of uncertainty and unfortunate circumstances in his 6 1/2 years, he remains so very sweet, trusting, and that beautiful smile we can't get enough of never leaves his face. He adores his large dog friends and can spend all day playing if you let him. Dash also did a fantastic job greeting people during his outing to Walmart for Sasquatch and Santa, and demonstrated every ounce of good manners he has (which is like quite a few ounces). He's a good boy who deserves a family to cherish him. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

If you have been considering adding a big, precious, black dog with some white on his chest and paws, maybe some flappy ears, a touch of grey on his muzzle, and cute little crooked teeth. Dash may be just the dog for you! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Well, well, well. We have a power outage, everyone.
Please know that we are not ignoring your calls if youโ€™ve been attempting to contact us.

On another note, have a look at this photo of your favorite diabetic queen, Virana, enjoying her daily dose of cardboard box this morning (before we traveled back in time to 1860). โœจ

Yesterday, the team from Rocky Mountain Infectious Diseases stopped by to spread a little holiday cheer! ๐ŸŽ

Every item will help provide quality care, enrichment, and comfort to our animals, big and small, and we are extremely grateful for their heartwarming generosity. ๐Ÿ™

Thank you, RMID! For caring, for helping, and for being totally awesome in everything that you do! We would not be able to continue our work without the kindness you hold in your hearts. โค๏ธ

We love a good pair of bright eyes that stare into our souls. ๐Ÿ‘€ Sven is a 2 year old mix of enthusiasm and a lust for life... or maybe just a terrier of some kind. He tends to play the reserved card in unusual surroundings with unusual people (we understand, Svenny boy), but that's nothing a soft voice and tasty treat can't manage. He's quickly shown us how accepting and fun he is, and believe us, you're gonna want to stock up on toys, ASAP. Sven doesn't discriminate; he loves all toys, BUT he has a soft spot for balls. Fetch? It's more of a concept, but you have to let him live to his heart's content, right? ๐Ÿ˜š He's still learning, some patience and consistency are crucial, and we promise that kindness will go a long way. He's not only beautiful; he demonstrates his drive, intelligence, and potential every single day, and there's nothing he wouldn't do for a pumpkin tart from Unleashed Dog Bakery. So do what you will with that information. ๐Ÿคž Sven will thrive with someone active, equally driven, ready to invest in his manners and needs, and in return, you will have an amazing friend ready to give you his all (and cuddles, lots and lots of cuddles). He has done well meeting other dogs; he's a bit outspoken (and by that we mean, very vocal, very opinionated), but will settle down with proper direction and once all the excitement leaves his precious little bones. He hasn't met children yet, but if they're respectful, we think he will do just fine. Cats? We don't know, but we will do our best to test him soon, just ask for an update when you come to visit. ๐Ÿ˜

The shelter will be open from 12 pm - 5 pm, tomorrow and Saturday. Sven hopes to see you all there!โœจ

Say hello to Pinto! This precious, 3 year old good boy is eager to give his love and attention, and you know what they say about beans? They're good for your heart. ๐Ÿ˜š We aren't quite sure what Pinto could be, a Terrier? A Corgi? Or even better, a Cojack? Whatever it may be, he radiates a cheerful energy that is sure to uplift your spirits on even the darkest of days, and let's be real, who wouldn't fall head over heels for this face? The smile, the twinkle in his eyes, he was made to be adored and adored he shall be! Pinto is a low rider by design and a heartthrob by nature. His social attitude and thrill-seeking personality keep life interesting, and being built close to the ground comes with its perks. He is optimized for maximum zoomies efficiency, and you know, a wide open space to play in hates to see these stubs coming. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Our little friend has enough positivity and silliness to go around for his human and canine friends (see a photo of him and Tommy, his favorite play pal, who is also vertically efficent and looking for a great home ๐Ÿ‘€), and we have no doubt he is going to fit in nicely with any family; his only condition is that no cats are allowed. โœŒ๏ธ

If you've been searching for a smaller dog to fill some gaps in your life, satisfy your boredom, or maybe you need a solid friend to help you get through this crazy rollercoaster we call life, Pinto may be just the dude for you. โœจ
