Before the release of our Premium List, we would like to address several rumors and concerns regarding our 2026 show.
CWKC will not be offering Obedience or Rally in 2026.
To ensure the long-term sustainability of our club, we were required to make several difficult decisions this year. After a thorough review of participation numbers for Obedience, Rally, and Conformation, along with the associated costs of hosting each event, we determined that we could only support one discipline at this time. Additionally, we have significantly reduced the number of buildings rented at the event site.
Following extensive discussion and consultation with a financial advisor, CWKC has made the decision to temporarily suspend performance events until we are able to rebuild financial stability. This step is necessary to ensure the continuation of the club and its ability to host events in the future. Once we are in a stronger financial position, we fully intend to reintroduce these events—they are not gone permanently.
We want to emphasize that these decisions were not made lightly. Without these changes, CWKC would not be able to host a show next year at all. While we recognize that clubs represent more than financial considerations, maintaining financial viability is essential to our continued existence.
We also evaluated the costs associated with renting the event facility. As part of these reductions, we will not be renting the Industrial Building, which previously housed Reserved Grooming. The cost of that space alone was substantial. However, both Reserved and Free Grooming will still be available. Reserved Grooming will now be located within the main show building and will include electrical access. Due to this change, we strongly encourage exhibitors to submit Reserved Grooming requests early.
We understand that these adjustments may be disappointing, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding. These measures are necessary to protect the future of CWKC and to ensure we can continue offering events for years to come.
We look forward to hosting Conformation, FastCAT, Dock Diving, and welcoming all of our exhibitors and attendees to the 2026 show.
