IT IS ALL ABOUT CARING. In 2014, my wife, Jan and I, started trying to help Okanogan area dogs. There is no public money available at all to help out.

There are no funded Humane Societies or shelters for Okanogan County dogs. Any effort has to come from the private sector both in terms of money and effort. We have been successful in helping almost 6400 dogs so far. We have done this by rapidly responding to dogs in need and by building confidence and trust. Our successful adoption rate nears 100% through the use of carefully chosen transfer partners who put local area dogs first. The euthanasia rate and overall fatality rate is almost nil. As trust in us grows more people have chosen to follow us and to participate in our cause. We maintain a vet emergency fund to assist injured and ill dogs who have no other resources available. We have a program that provides free stay at home spay for mama dogs when pup litters are entrusted to us. At 7 years old, this lab/pittie mix is past the puppy chaos but still has plenty of adventures left ahead of him. He loves walks, car rides, hanging out with his people, and then coming home for a well-earned nap.

He's house-trained, good with dogs, cats, and kids, and has the kind of easygoing personality that fits into just about any family.

Honestly, Reese is the dog so many people say they're looking for:

Mama has done an incredible job caring for her puppies, but they deserve the chance to stretch out, play, and experience the comfort of a loving home while they prepare for their forever families. Happily Ever After: Kingston Edition 👑❤️

Last week, we celebrated sister Isla finding her forever home. This week, it's Kingston's turn!

Sometimes the perfect family is right in front of you all along.

Kingston's foster family completely fell in love with him and made the easiest foster failure decision ever. Instead of saying goodbye, they made him an official member of the family!

Now Kingston gets to spend every day with his amazing people and the furry siblings who adore him, too. From canine companions to feline friends, he's surrounded by love exactly where he belongs.

We couldn't be happier for this sweet boy and his wonderful family. Thank you for opening your hearts and giving Kingston the forever home every rescue dog dreams about.

Meet Winnie.

This one-year-old German Shepherd/Pittie mix appears to have appointed herself the official caretaker of every small creature she meets. Kittens? Welcome. Cats? No problem. Family life? Count her in.

While some dogs merely tolerate cats, Winnie has apparently decided they're her responsibility. Whether she's serving as a pillow, a cuddle buddy, or a personal bodyguard, she's happiest when she's taking care of her friends.

💔 We are asking for a miracle by Thursday. 💔

There are several small dogs, about a year old and under 25 pounds, that need rescue.

An elderly couple has been doing their best, but they are struggling and can no longer keep up. These dogs need help now.

The problem?
We don't have enough foster homes.

Every day people ask why rescues can't take more dogs. The answer is simple:
Without foster homes, there is no rescue.

These dogs have a chance. They are friendly, young, and completely deserving of a fresh start. But unless foster families step forward, our hands are tied.

We are pleading with our community:
Please consider fostering.

Just a temporary place to land. Just a little room in your home. Just a few weeks of your time.

It could mean everything to a dog that has nowhere else to go.

If we can secure foster homes by Thursday, we can save them.

If we can't, we may have to walk away knowing we didn't have the space to help.
