Nithin's Organics aims to grow vegetables organically and supply the local community so they too can benefit from healthy, locally-grown food. We believe strongly in organic agricultural practices that help to enhance soil & water quality, reduce pollution, and promote a self-sustaining recycling of resources on the farm. We will get a chance to explore more and lay a way for the younger generatio

n to learn and appreciate nature. We sell our produce weekly twice (from April to October) at Good Hope Farm. Local residents interested may reach us at [email protected] or 248-464-0492.

🌱 Milestone at Nithin's Farm! 🌱

Since early January, we’ve been hard at work—and now, all the heavy planting, composting, and vegetable bed preparation is complete!

The recent rains have come at the perfect time, helping our freshly planted crops settle in and grow strong. The soil is rich, the beds are ready, and the season is looking promising! 🌧️🥬🌿

Grateful for the journey so far—stay tuned for more updates from our farm! 🌽🌼

We started cleaning-up vines from the trellis rows on our second plot this week!

Using jute twine for our trellis is a very smart, eco-friendly choice - natural, biodegradable, and compostable. It’s great to see how it keeps our farm very clean and also supports a sustainable cycle with the vines!

Thanks to recent rains which helped to transplant the onion seedlings last week! But, we had very tough time planting them this year due to crazy windy & cold weather after it rained.

Adding finished compost to your soil: Improves the structure and health of your soil by adding organic matter. Helps the soil retain moisture and nutrients. Attracts beneficial organisms to the soil and reduces the need for pesticides and fertilizers.

Thanks for the volunteers helping on spreading the compost and also removing the weeds from garlic beds!

Onion seedlings are almost ready to transplant in a week or two. Finally, the nature is helping us with better weather to prep the beds to transplant them sooner.

We could see our soil is getting so rich every year and also see lot of earth worms in it since we are continuously adding leaf mulch and compost every year!

This year weeds (that too only henbit) were pretty bad on our garlic beds which we cleaned-up fully this week. Manual weeding is environmental friendly but it is very labor-intensive work.

Happy Pongal Everyone!

We have well prepared ahead for our 4th year organic farming journey!

We have spread the leaf mulch (Thanks to Volunteers for helping to bring the leaf mulch from the front) for all those open beds!

We have spread the last year compost (made out of previous year dead plants) on top of leaf mulch!

Also, we have started cleaning-up our 2nd plot dead plants and made a big compost pile!

Special thanks to Dhivya, Nithin & Volunteers (December) to make this happen quickly!

We have also started the seedlings work for upcoming season in our greenhouse (will post photos in the next post)!

Happy Thanksgiving! 🙏We truly appreciate you! Thank you for supporting our farm! 🙏

Last few weeks we were busy with planting fall garlic and also cleaning up our front plot (old/dead eggplants, okra & tomato plants)! Enjoyed the warmer weather too!🌤

Finally we got some time this week to work on Tindora (Kovakkai / Dondakaya) cuttings & also move all those root plants inside the greenhouse (due to the colder weather) which would be needed for the next season planting and also for selling too! 🌱

Finally, we got some rains for these little garlic plants today!

Prepared the beds and planted garlic couple of weeks back. Today spread mulch which helps to control the weeds, retain the moisture, protect from cold weather and also feeds these plants over time!

We just grow our garlic naturally using only mulch & compost!
