Nithin's Organics aims to grow vegetables organically and supply the local community so they too can benefit from healthy, locally-grown food. We believe strongly in organic agricultural practices that help to enhance soil & water quality, reduce pollution, and promote a self-sustaining recycling of resources on the farm. We will get a chance to explore more and lay a way for the younger generatio

n to learn and appreciate nature. We sell our produce weekly twice (from April to October) at Good Hope Farm. Local residents interested may reach us at [email protected] or 248-464-0492.

Gardening update from Nithin's Farm! 🌱

Even with the tough drought conditions this year, we went ahead and started the season strong. Planted a mix of Eggplants, Chilies, Bell Peppers, Okras, Tomatoes, Gongura, and Indian spinach varieties.

Trying to stay ahead of the heat wave this weekβ€”added mulch to the red onion beds to lock in moisture and protect the soil after removing the weeds. Watering deep early mornings and keeping a close eye on the more sensitive plants.

Hoping the heat eases up a bit, but staying optimistic 🀞

Spring prep is in full swing here 🌱

Spent time spreading compost, tilling the beds, and getting everything ready for the upcoming planting season. It’s a lot of work, but nothing beats seeing the soil come back to life.

Huge thanks to our friends who volunteered their time and energy to help spread compostβ€”it made a big difference and is truly appreciated!

Planted onions last week, and the garlic is looking fantastic after adding compost and mulch. Cleared out the weeds too, so everything has a good head start.

Slowly but surely, the garden is coming together. Looking forward to the weeks ahead!

Garlic work progress update πŸ§„πŸŒ±

Spent time clearing thick weeds from the garlic beds last week, followed by mulching too. It was quite a bit of physical work, but honestly enjoyed every minute of it. There’s something peaceful about working with the soil and seeing the difference after consistent effort.

Farming keeps reminding me β€” when we put in the right effort at the right time, nature takes care of the rest. Small daily progress adds up to something beautiful over time.

🌱 Nithin’s Farm – Year 5 of farming!

We’ve started our onion seeds and it’s heartwarming to see them sprouting. Nature keeps us hopeful, even as we battle severe cold, back-to-back winter storms, and freezing pipes.

Farming teaches patience and resilience every day β„οΈπŸŒ±

Farm update from the last few weeks! 🌱

Been actively working through the fall cleanup:

βœ… Mulched all the garlic beds
βœ… Cleared out the dead summer plants β€” Okras, Eggplants, Gongura, Tomatoes, and more!
βœ… Built a BIG compost pile with all the garden leftovers!

Feels great to reset the beds and get things ready for the next season! πŸŒΎπŸ’š

Nithin’s Farm is entering its 5th year in 2026! It’s a great farmer training program right in the heart of the Town of Cary. I highly recommend it to anyone with some farming experience and a desire to take their skills and operations to the next level.

Become a Farmer at Good Hope Farm!
Our Farmer Training Program is accepting new applicants for the 2026 farming year.
Through this initiative, farmers interested in launching their own agribusinesses can sublet affordable plots at Cary’s historic teaching farm. Program participants benefit from shared use of infrastructure such as irrigation, farm equipment, refrigeration, packing and washing station, and more.
Interested individuals should have some farming experience and a desire to take their farming operations to the next level. The Farmer Training Program is hosted in collaboration with our nonprofit partners at Piedmont Conservation Council and includes access to a Farmer Handbook and sample business plans. 🌱 Fall Garlic Planting at Nithin’s Farm! πŸ§„

Over the past two weeks, we’ve been busy cleaning up the beds, removing old plants and weeds, and spreading fresh compost to enrich the soil. The fields are now ready β€” and the garlic we planted has already started growing! 🌿

Each clove is settling in for the winter and will continue to develop through spring. This marks another step in our effort to grow fresh, chemical-free produce right here in Cary.

Thank you all for your continued support β€” can’t wait to share next summer’s garlic harvest with you! πŸ’š

No more farm-stand for this season, but we do have the last batch of ash gourds available! They can be stored outside for another month or two and used as needed. Please let us know if you’d like to get some.

If you haven’t shared your feedback yet, we’d love to hear from you β€” it really helps us improve and continue growing fresh, quality produce each year.
