Check out what’s growing on our farm!

Common purslane, called gangavalli kura in Southern India, is a nutritious green that can be eaten raw or cooked. It is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin A and vitamin C. Its sour, lemony taste makes food flavorful. Try some from Natural & Local LLC stall tomorrow August 5th from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at 1580 Morrisville Carpenter Rd in Cary. We will have many other fresh vegetables.

Experienced and aspiring Certified Organic farmers: You’re invited to join CFSA’s Farmer-to-Farmer Mentorship Program!

Through September 30th, we’re accepting sign-ups for new farmer mentors and mentees to be part of our regional community of practice advancing organic production and certification in the Carolinas. 🤝 Sign up today to provide or receive one-on-one mentorship from another farmer to help achieve your certified organic goals!

The Farmer-to-Farmer Mentorship Program is a great fit for:

🍅 Experienced certified organic producers: Whether you’re actively farming or retired, become a mentor to share your wisdom and expertise in organic production with beginning farmers! Mentors are paid for their time and participation in the program ($3,000 for 40 hrs of mentoring over one year).

🍅 Farmers interested in transitioning to certified organic production: Become a mentee and learn directly from other farmers who have been through the certification process; plus, gain access to CFSA’s technical assistance programs and practical resources for farmers! Mentees are eligible for a stipend of up to $500 to support their professional development and education during the mentorship year.
