Turmeric grows slowly. David and Michael from Orange Sky Organics planted this crop in May, and will harvest later this fall. In the US, the root is usually ground and used as a spice or dye, but turmeric has also been used for centuries as an anti-inflammatory treatment in traditional Indian medicines.
