Dog "Scooting" ❓ FAQ Friday: "Why is my dog scooting their rear across the carpet? Do they have worms?"
While intestinal parasites are a possibility, the most common reason for the "carpet scoot" is full or irritated a**l glands! Dogs have two small scent glands that normally empty when they have a bowel movement. If the glands become full, impacted, or inflamed, your pup will drag their rear to try to relieve the pressure.
