Meet Jasper 🐾✂️

Jasper, this big goofy 92-pound Great Pyrenees doodle, came to see us for what turned into the ultimate glow-up transformation 😂🐶

With such a thick, dense coat, grooming had become nearly impossible, and unfortunately those mats were starting to pull tightly on his skin and make him uncomfortable. After talking with his groomer, the best plan was for Jasper to come in for sedation so we could safely give him a fresh start from head to toe ✨

And when we say head to toe… we mean HEAD TO TOE. 😅

Cheryl spent hours carefully working on Jasper, and by the end there were literal piles and piles of fluffy dog hair everywhere — including all over Cheryl 😂 One of the photos says it all! We decided on a fun little “lion cut,” leaving some fluff around his adorable face, feet, and tail 🦁🐕

By the time he was finished, Jasper looked like a whole new man. Maybe a slightly naked new man… but definitely a much more comfortable one ❤️

The best part? Jasper stayed his happy, goofy, tail-wagging self through the entire visit. He was just as excited coming in as he was heading home, ready to enjoy summer feeling lighter, cooler, and mat-free ☀️🐾

We’re so happy we could help this sweet boy feel better, and we hope this fresh start makes future grooming much easier and more comfortable for him!

Way to go, Jasper… and way to go, Cheryl! 👏✂️

A packed barbecue can be a lot for pets—visitors, open flames, and way too many tempting snacks. Keep them on a leash or in a safe space, and make sure they have shade, water, and pet-friendly treats. 🌞🐕 Have a fabulous holiday!

Meet Bruno 🍊🐾

Bruno is a one-year-old Neapolitan Mastiff weighing in at a whopping 140 pounds of drool, wrinkles, silliness, and LOVE 😂❤️

This handsome big guy came back to see us so Dr. Gisleson could check out a lingering limp in one of his rear legs. Because Bruno is still young and growing, we’re keeping a close eye on things while monitoring for a possible ligament injury and maybe even a little panosteitis (“growing pains” for giant breed puppies 🦴). He also had a small amount of effusion noted in the leg, so for now we’re watching him carefully and making sure he stays as comfortable as possible. If surgery ends up being needed down the road, we’ll be here for him every step of the way 💙

Now… while his leg may have been bothering him a bit, you’d never know it from his personality 🤣 Bruno is basically a giant toddler in a 140-pound body. Sitting still? Absolutely not. Too many things to see. Too many people to love. Too many drools to sling.

Thankfully, Mom came PREPARED with Bruno’s ultimate weakness…

🍊 SUMO ORANGES 🍊

Yep. Not steak. Not bacon. Not fancy treats. This enormous Neo’s favorite snack is oranges 😂 And honestly? We fully support it.

As you can see in the photos, the oranges were the real MVPs helping us get Bruno to focus long enough for his exam 📸🐶

Between his giant paws, endless rolls, sweet slobbery kisses, and goofy personality, Bruno kept the whole clinic smiling during his visit. We adore this lovable guy and can’t wait to watch him continue to grow into the magnificent gentle giant he’s becoming ❤️

Healing with Sound 🔊🐾 | PulseVet at Alpine Animal Hospital

The treatment you’re watching is called PulseVet therapy, a modern form of high-energy soundwave therapy used to accelerate healing in pets. It’s backed by over 15 years of research and now more effective and comfortable than ever—no sedation required!

🐶💥 So what does it do?
PulseVet uses focused soundwaves to stimulate the body’s natural healing process. These waves travel deep into soft tissue to:

🔹 Reduce pain
🔹 Improve mobility
🔹 Decrease inflammation
🔹 Boost blood flow
🔹 Encourage bone regeneration
🔹 Speed up wound healing

This is not laser therapy. 💡
While laser therapy uses light and works well for superficial injuries, PulseVet delivers soundwaves that pe*****te deeper and produce stronger therapeutic effects.

It’s especially useful for:
🦴 Broken bones
🦮 Osteoarthritis
🩹 Wounds
🏃‍♂️ Sprains & strains

✨ Meet Claire—the very first patient we’re testing this new trode on!
Claire is the beloved pup of Dr. Gisleson, who is also performing the treatment. She tore a ligament in her knee as a puppy—an unusual injury at such a young age (though it always seems to happen to vets’ dogs!). She underwent a procedure to repair it, and now, with help from Dr. Imhoff and a lot of dedication from her mom, we’re using PulseVet to help restore her mobility and keep her comfortable.

💡 This latest PulseVet technology by Zomedica is a huge upgrade. Older “trodes” used to require sedation because they were uncomfortable. Now, the treatment is gentle—Claire is calm and unfazed. (You’ll notice we used cotton balls to soften the sound and a lick mat to keep her happy during the session. 🐕💖)

⏱️ Most treatments take just a few minutes. You may see results in 1–3 sessions, and the effects can last up to 12 months.

📞 Curious if PulseVet could help your pet? Give us a call—we’re excited to offer this healing technology right here at Alpine Animal Hospital!
