Thank you to the Petfinder Foundation for awarding Taylor County Animal Shelter a 2025 P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds Grant! Our hope is that the pet beds provide the pets in our care a more relaxed home like environment. We further hope that this decreases the amount of stress that shelter pets experience while being in a new environment.

We already have approval from one of our furry friends named Bella.

Friendly reminder to all pet owners: Your pet would not be picked up and taken to the shelter by animal control or good Samaritans if proper identification was on the collar of your pet. This includes but not limited to a dog tag, a rabies tag (required by law to be on your dog and updated yearly), and or a simple permanent marker would suffice if you have no other options. If we pickup your dog and we can identify where it lives at the time, we will return it to you without taking he/she to the shelter. Microchips are also a great option and we do sell them at the shelter for anyone that needs one, we charge $25 this includes both a microchip and parvo vaccine. All animal control officers carry microchip scanners and as long as your information is up to date with the chip company, we will contact you immediately. Thank you!

Anyone missing this guy? He decided he wanted to work at rent-a-center and jumped into their moving van. He’s now at the TCAS, he does have a minor cut to the back leg but otherwise healthy.
