80% rate on the Polish breedings! Which I’m very happy with! But…unfortunately, we lost Hèla in the process. 😓I feel absolutely horrible! She usually kindled 1-2 days after her initial due date. So when I saw her in her box with plenty of fur I didn’t think anything of it! I didn’t see any blood either, indicating that she was in labor. When I went to feed yesterday, I found her gone and no babies either. One was stuck in the birth canal. Not even sticking out where I could have helped her. I am devastated and I feel horrible! She was a spicy girl but she was an amazing first time mom and a mom in general with her litters! I have her sons Velvet Creed and Bite the Bullet but I was hoping for a daughter from her. Her mom gave me 3 and hopefully I can get another doe as her mom has given me amazing bucks lately. It just really sucks!
Dwarf breeds are so hard and not for the faint of heart. Between peanuts and kits getting stuck…it’s been a rough ride. The babies that I do have from Sylvie, Snowflake, Tulip, and Elsa look amazing! And I’m excited to see how Tulips first littles turn out (they are being fostered out). Next up, Dutch girls due.
