"Red Barn's Black Coal" brought home a leg from Coldwater, MI! This little sucker got lucky because I was going to send him somewhere else! But something told me to take him anyways. He brought home a junior leg! I couldn't be more happy and I am seriously, partially, in tears.
Here's why: We haven't shown for that long but in that process we have had a lot of ups and downs and people that have wanted us to fail. I have been told a lot of misinformation, a lot of lies, or just pure drama that we don't need. Something shifted and, now, we (along with myself and my own breed), are getting a lot more help, a lot better community, and a lot more relief and FUN! This hobby I started YEARS ago but only for the past 8 years we've been showing in ARBA. But, about 3 years back, I started losing my motivation for it because of the situations I was in. I had people selling us the wrong colored eyes on Flemish, horrible bodied rabbits that I was told were good show rabbits, and so much more, only to find out my time and $ was wasted because I trusted people to be honest and help. Through all of this, I learned a lot and am doing my best to help my kids progress along with myself. I think we're finally getting BACK on the right track after being thrown off by so many different things. I flat out admit, I was barn blind for a bit. That's completely on me! But after what all has gone on, I'm no longer blind. I'm also going to try to work on replacing EVERY SINGLE CAGE IN THIS BARN before winter (except my 8 hole, 12 hole, 30x30 litter pens, and two 3 stacks that are my sons Brit cages). None of them match, the doors don't all open the same, the dishes aren't in the same way and I'm honestly sick of it. The legs and trays I'll keep (nothing wrong with those) but I am going to be replacing the cages themselves.
That being said, I will probably have some cages for sale before to long. Nothing wrong with them except they all need a good hose down, but I just want consistancy.
Anyways! I want to thank those that have helped! The new Polish family! Also, to Red Barn, thank you for trusting me to take over this little breed! I hope I'm doing them justice! Friends of mine that I've known that have been honest but kind (you know who you are)! The Brit people that have been AMAZING in getting my son started in the right direction! He's killing it with them! Thank you! Sincerly! You have no idea! I have wanted to just completely get out of all of this because of the drama and lack of motivation that I've had because of that drama that has brought me down! A Polish person told me, though, "No, drama here! Just fun or you're out!" Thank you! I need that!
To all of our followers, THANK YOU! We couldn't do it without you!
Sincerly,
Hankey Farms' Kritters and Friends (Kara (Polish), Hans (Brits), and Dean Hankey (Dutch)/Damion Evans(Dutch))
