Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks!

11 year old It Makes Sense raced for 8 years. When he arrived at RMR he was a little, should we say, set in his ways. We decided to let him join a herd of retired geldings and learn a little about life away from the track.

After several months of let down time, It Makes Sense had been lightly restarted under saddle. This was only his 3rd ride!!

Will someone please sn**ch him up and take him to ?

*** Exciting News ***

We teased some exciting news the other day, and while it is taking a little longer than expected, we are happy to announce that we will be launching a brand new website in the coming days! We can't wait for you all to check it out!

Shanghai Charlie likes the obstacles. He's such a good boy, it's very hard to believe he's only 3. Maybe that's why he earned the barn name 'Sir Charles' 😆 He is such a distinguished gentleman.

Sir Charles is currently available for adoption. He located in Burleson, Tx.

It Makes Sense had his first ride yesterday since retiring from racing last year. He raced until he was 10, so all things considered it went very well.
This is a neat horse in so many ways. A son of Majestic Warrior, 8 year racing career and still sound, raced 48 times and won 12, and earned nearly $350,000. His last work was in August 2025 so he is RRP Eligible.
It Makes Sense is looking for an experienced partner willing to spend some quality time with him. His adoption fee is way under market value for a horse like this!
Adoption applications can be found on our website www.retiredracehorses.org. Once you're application is completed, we would love to chat and see if Sense or maybe one of our other horses would be a good fit for your next partner.

Jive was very proud of himself after he spit out some of his antibiotics on Martha Nolan Dixson 😂

Jive was bailed from a pen by his Florida racing connections and brought to Remember Me for QT and rehab on October 5th. He will need to be on antibiotics for 30 days to clear up a bad infection around his broken splint bone. Then, the splint bone will need to be surgically removed. He will need to spend about 10 days at the clinic, then months of rehab here with us before he can be adopted. This incredibly sweet gelding is a perfect patient and loves every second he gets to spend with humans. He's worth it!! ♥️

Jive's journey will be very expensive and he needs sponsors and gifts from his friends to help us provide for his long rehabilitation. You can donate for Jive by giving a one time gift or become a monthly sponsor through our website at www.retiredracehorses.org, PayPal at [email protected] or Venmo -me-rescue

Follow us and Jive's journey back to health. Check back for updates!

We’re proud to share that Remember Me Rescue has been accredited by the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance again for 2026–2027! We’ve been accredited since 2014, and we’re grateful for the TAA’s continued confidence and support.

The TAA does so much for Thoroughbreds by supporting accredited aftercare organizations across the country and helping retired racehorses find safe, caring futures. We’re honored to be part of that work.

We truly could not do what we do without the TAA’s support. Thank you for standing with Remember Me Rescue and with Thoroughbreds everywhere!

Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance announced today that 45 Thoroughbred aftercare organizations have been awarded accreditation for 2026.

Of the 45 organizations, 39 were previously accredited, and six earned accreditation for the first time this year. Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance, the gold standard and only accrediting body in Thoroughbred aftercare, now has a network of 91 organizations with approximately 170 facilities across North America.

The six organizations earning accreditation for the first time this year are: Alberta Thoroughbred Aftercare Society, California Thoroughbred Retirement Farm, Heart Bar Foundation, Kingfisher Equine Rehab & Rehome, Operation Second Stride, and Wild Hearts Thoroughbred Adoption Society.
