Have you hugged your local animal welfare agency support personnel today?😆 No… but really this is a physically and emotionally exhausting job that isn’t for the faint of heart, but your this team of shelter workers and officers have huge hearts or they wouldn’t still be here! This week we show our appreciation for all the bites, scratches, tears but mostly for the THOUSANDS OF LIVES THEY HAVEE IMPACTED AND SAVED IN THEIR CAREERS👏❤️🫶 I personally love and appreciate each and every one of you! ~ Jewell🐾💕

949 intakes since 1/1/25… we are on day 98 of this year! That still has us running average 10/day🤦🏼‍♀️😔. We took in 20 cats from one location today!
We took in 126 in 8 days (just in April so far)💔 meaning 16/day for this month!

Sorry to HOUND YOU🤦🏼‍♀️👀 But a local hunter passed away and all his dogs came to the shelter. Plus the usual random hounds here and there… SO here are 10 awesome hounds that need homes or even jobs! Some were clearly great hunters in the past! Just know that they are ready for a second chance at life! They are vaccinated, internal and external parasite treated, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (All HW + but that is treatable once adopted folks!) and microchipped! NO COST TO ADOPT THANKS TO SPONSORS!

We are excited to announce we have partnered with Petcademy thanks to our Best Friends Grant to provide post adoption and intake diversion support! This is a one year pilot program that we are excited to offer for our adopters and community!

"Upon adoption or fostering, you will receive complimentary training and behavioral support from Petcademy via text message and email to assist with your new pet. This service can be very beneficial to you and your new pet as it becomes acclimated to their new home, it is available to you at no cost for 30 days, and you may opt out at any time. After the initial 30 days, you have the option to extend Petcademy’s support services at an additional cost."

Adopters will be contacted shortly after adoption by Petcademy or they can reach out on their own with information provided in their packets!

We have NO donated food left for pets in need🥺 this is part of intake diversion to keep pets from being surrendered! We need UNOPENED bags of DRY cat and dog food (adult and puppy/kitten)! You can deliver or have it shipped to:

449 adoption/transfers alone in that time
232 went to JUST ONE of our many rescue partners… (OVER 50%)
At an median cost of $40 per animal that put just their pull fees at:
232 x $40 = $9,280!!!!
THIS IS WHY WE NEED SPONSORS!
Almost all those animals needed some continued care… heartworm treatment ($1000), spay/neuter ($300), dentals ($1000), intensive care ($2000+), grooming, behavioral management, transports north… so YES paying $10,000 + in adoption fees impacts the rescues’s abilities to save lives!
