DRIVERS BEWARE!!! There are some companies out there, one in particular in the Charleston SC area!!! Sending people invoices for work they didn't do and is completely unnecessary to do!!! Don't be taken in by this $125 "demand". Check it out and do your homework. Not everyone really wants to help, they want to help themselves to your bank account!!!

Please be very careful when choosing a company to do work on your behalf. Some are just not so nice and not so truthful.

Arkansas just signed legislation that probably starting in the end of July, anyone who renews a CDL or applies for a new one, must first have proof of taking a course about human trafficking. The state will not give the course. It will be given on-line by the group, "Truckers Against Trafficking". It will include a 26 minute video and then a short quiz. Ohio has also signed up to go on board and the state's of Kansas and Texas are pending. Check out the TAT website.

Well, they finally did it. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, or FMCSA, published a final rule this morning, for all commercial truck and bus drivers. It establishes a national drug and alcohol clearinghouse. It will serve as a central repository containing records of violations of FMCSA's drug and alcohol testing program by CDL holders.

Let's all be safe and not a statistic. Recently released data shows that 35000 people died on the highways in 2015 alone. This is 7.2% increase over 2014. In 2015, vehicle miles traveled increased 3.5 % over 2014, which is the biggest increase in almost 25 years. Be safe and take your time.

Going on right now: "Operation Safe Driver Week". Ends on Saturday, 10/23. Roadside inspectors will be focusing on speeding, distracted driving, improper lane changes, seat belt use and cell phone use, among others. Let's all be safe out there-get home to your family.
