I try to take walks through the flower field to make notes, but it always ends up with a handful of beautiful things. Some fun, new crops are starting to bloom just in time for the -ber months!

We don’t spray our blooms with chemicals, but that means there might be an occasional bug hiding in the petals. Since it’s spider season….

This spring, my brother called and said my mom had been in a wreck. I blew out of work and got home in record time. When I got there, mom was home and ok, but her car was not. When we asked what happened, she simply replied, “There was a spider.” In an attempt to crush it by hurling her purse across the car, she drove over a hill, took out a fence, split two trees that tore her mirrors off, went airborne, smashed a second fence, and landed in a hillside. We are so thankful that she was completely unharmed, but we had to have a talk about her spider phobia (and it’s now family lore that we all laugh at).

SO WHAT I’M TRYING TO SAY IS…if you’re scared of spiders, I need you to put your bouquet in the back back seat on the way home for the rest of the season…just in case.

The flower stand is stocked today, and we’ll see you at the Bridgeport Farmers Market tomorrow!

Like those big plumes of crazy hair, this celosia makes me think of my 90s Trolls collection. They are going to be beautiful incorporated into weekend bouquets!

Last week, the cutest little guy picked out a bouquet for his mama, and he knew exactly what she liked…purple. 💜 It was the sweetest!

It’s going to be an absolutely perfect market day. We can’t wait to see you at the Bridgeport Farmers Market from 10-1!

New rhythms and routines are in full swing around here. The first few days have been good, but I’m bracing myself for the middle of next week when we have to drag kids out of bed. Back to school means new flower rhythms for me too. Flower Fridays are going to start sneaking up on me!

The flower stand is stocked with beautiful bouquets. They feel like summer with a touch of fall sneaking in!

The lisianthus have been good to us this season. We just cut the last varieties out of the tunnel to make way for the next thing. It’s wild to experience the beautiful seasonality of each flower (tulips, peonies, and ranunculus in spring…zinnias, sunflowers, and lisianthus in summer…dahlias in fall). At the same time, we’re always thinking at least 6 months ahead. So today we’re enjoying lisianthus…tomorrow we’re prepping for spring flowers.

The rain has stopped today just so you can make a trip to the Bridgeport Farmers Market. 😜 Come grab some beautiful blooms to get your week started right. We’re here from 10-1!

Welp…I haven’t had to irrigate this season. 😵‍💫

The flower stand is stocked with some colorful stems to chase away the gloomy skies. Hydrangeas, lisianthus, and the first trickle of dahlias (they’d like to see the sun as much as us). Happy Friday!

This was my family at 2am last night x5. All of us were awake, huddled as close as possible in our bed, bracing for some of the loudest thunder we’ve ever heard. Is this some crazy weather, or what?!
