Sound the Alarm!!!
Yesterday, we received our favorite text: "How do we move forward?" and when I tell you we celebrated!
Dreya has found her forever home!!🥳🤩
After 9 months in our care, Dreya found her forever home! We tried over...and over...and over again, with 1 failed foster to adopt, a few inquires that did not stick, numerous posts, lots of promotions, and FINALLY our sweet girl did it, she found the home she has desperately been looking for. She watched 7 other pets find their homes, just waiting for her time, and it came, like we knew it would.
Her Story:
She was found on the side of the road, scared, alone, and worried that trusting humans again would be a mistake. Dreya spent months in her finders home, looking for one of her own before she came to us.
With clear evidence of neglect and abuse, Dreya needed some work on regaining trust with humans.
Within just a couple weeks, we were confident that she was ready for placement, and would find her forever home. Then...nothing. We listed her on adoptapet...and still...nothing. In February, we finally had an inquiry. She was moved into Foster to Adopt, but unfortunately, it did not stick.
Dreya watched 7 other pets come in and out of the rescue. Patiently waiting for herself to finally find a home. We kept telling her they will come, we're doing everything we can, hang in there sweet girl.
Finally, on July 2nd, we got another application. We jumped with joy as we texted back and forth talking about Dreya; they had one question:
Why, in 9 months, has she not found a home?
our response:
We don't know. Some think she's not cute, others have concerns with her and other pets, but truly, she is a great dog, who just takes time to be comfortable.
On July 5th, the day came. The team of people who have been rooting for Dreya said a prayer the night before, and we were off. As she laid on the floorboard of the passenger seat, we drove 2 hours to their house.
We spent 3 hours, there, talking about Dreya, and her story. The accomplishments she has made, the love she is learning, and how special and unique of a dog she is. Despite having a run in with the other dog in the home, her family didn't give up on her, and still decided to go forward with Foster to Adopt, something that takes a lot of courage, and truly a special person.
Prepared for it to take a full 2 weeks, if not more, to know the outcome of our special girl, after 6 days, we recieved the text we hoped and prayed we would get.
Dreya is the exact reason why we say there is a family for every pet. Because truly, we believe there is. It might take 1 week, it might take 9 months, but somewhere, there is a home that is a perfect fit for that pet.
We truly thank Dreya's adopters for their patience and kindness towards Dreya. She is learning to trust and love them, and they are allowing her to take her time. Her family is truly one of a kind, just like her, and we can't wait to hear about how she is doing, months and years down the road.
Now, let us celebrate!
