❤️🩹 No one knew where Bubby came from or how she was injured.
What we did know was heartbreaking: she was just a puppy, already missing an eye, yet she desperately loved everyone she met anyway.
When the Beagle mix arrived, one of her eyes had recently been surgically removed. We were sure that someone was out there missing her. But she had no microchip, no tags, and no records. We began desperately searching for answers, even calling dozens of local veterinary clinics, hoping someone would recognize the sweet pup. But days passed, and no one did. 💔
So together, we became Bubby’s promise of a brighter future.
What first looked like a recent eye removal turned out to be far more serious. Bubby’s eye socket was badly infected, and additional exams revealed old facial fractures as well as signs of previous injuries. She needed immediate medical care and a safe place to recover.
Throughout two long months of recovery, Bubby never lost her rambunctious and loving spirit. You would never know that behind the scenes, her recovery required advanced imaging, ongoing medical treatment, and multiple rounds of medication.
Her foster said she loved squeaky toys so much that she would keep squeaking them until she nearly fell asleep! Even with one eye, Bubby zoomed around her foster siblings with confidence. Despite everything she had been through, Bubby never stopped trusting people.
Bubby’s story could have ended very differently. Instead, thanks to you, she received lifesaving medical care, a safe place to heal, and the chance to feel loved.
