A dog was accidentally locked on a 15th-floor glass balcony of a luxury apartment on a 100-degree day, exposed to direct sunlight with no water or shade. The dog began collapsing from heat, panting heavily and at risk of fatal heatstroke.

Building security was unable to access the balcony in time. Ross, a high-rise window washer on an adjacent building, noticed the dog in distress. Acting quickly, he unclipped his safety line and maneuvered his suspended scaffolding across the gap between the buildings. He reached over the balcony railing, lifted the limp dog by its harness, and brought it onto his platform.

He poured cold water over the dog’s paws and neck to cool it down and safely lowered the platform to the ground. The dog survived, demonstrating the critical impact of rapid, courageous intervention in life-threatening situations.
