β˜€οΈπŸΆ Can Dogs Get Sunburned? The answer surprises a lot of pet owners: Yes!

While we often remember sunscreen for ourselves, it's easy to forget that some dogs are just as vulnerable to the sun's harmful rays.

Dogs at the highest risk include:
🐾 White or light-colored coats
🐾 Pink noses and lightly pigmented skin
🐾 Thin-haired or hairless areas, such as the belly, ears, and around the eyes

Just like people, repeated sun exposure can cause painful sunburn and may even increase the risk of certain skin conditions over time.

If your dog loves spending time outdoors, try to provide plenty of shade, avoid the strongest midday sun when possible, and ask your veterinarian whether a pet-safe sunscreen is appropriate for your dog's lifestyle.

A little extra sun protection can go a long way toward keeping your best friend comfortable all summer long. ❀️

🐾 POV: You're just trying to eat a bag of chips...
..and suddenly everyone in the house remembers you exist. πŸ‘€πŸŸ

It starts with one stare.

Then another.

Before you know it, you've got a dog sitting perfectly, a cat pretending they don't care (while inching closer), and every crunch somehow sounds like the dinner bell.

We may not know exactly how pets can hear a snack bag from three rooms away... but we're pretty sure it's one of their greatest superpowers. πŸ˜‚

Whether they're hoping for a bite or simply convinced every snack belongs to them, our pets always know how to make us laugh. ❀️

🌱🐢 Why Does My Dog Eat Grass? 🐢🌱

It's one of the oldest canine mysteries: your dog has a perfectly good bowl of food at home, yet they still stop to snack on the lawn during walks.

Many pet owners assume dogs eat grass because they're sick, but that's not usually the case. In fact, most grass-eating dogs show no signs of illness before or after their leafy snack.

Researchers aren't entirely sure why dogs do it, but several theories exist. Some experts believe it's an instinct inherited from their wild ancestors, who consumed plant material as part of their natural diet. Others think dogs simply enjoy the texture, taste, or sensory experience of chewing grass. For some pups, it may be little more than a canine hobby.

The good news? Occasional grass eating is generally considered normal behavior.

The bigger concern isn't the grass itselfβ€”it's what may be on it. Lawns can be treated with fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, or other chemicals that may be harmful if ingested. Certain plants and weeds can also be toxic to pets.

So if your dog enjoys an occasional "salad course," there's usually no reason to worry. But if the behavior becomes excessive, is accompanied by vomiting, diarrhea, appetite changes, or other signs of illness, it's worth giving us a call.

After all, sometimes curiosity is normal... and sometimes it's your dog's way of telling you something else is going on. 🐾

πŸΎπŸ“± If Dogs Had Group Texts... πŸ“±πŸΎ

We can only imagine the notifications.

But if dogs had group chats, we're pretty sure there would be a lot of drama, questionable life choices, urgent neighborhood alerts, and way too many messages sent in ALL CAPS.

Thankfully, they stick to barking instead. πŸ˜‚
