Originally built in 1735, Oakdene has undergone various additions and renovations throughout its history, and is a Baltimore County Historic Landmark. As a "boutique" barn, we offer a small, quiet operation featuring miles of trails along the Jones Falls waterway and over 150 acres of open fields to ride in. t, minutes from Downtown Baltimore and Towson. Beginning as a tobacco plantation in 1700, Summerfield has been farmed continuously for over 300 years. With its location in the heart of the Greenspring Valley, the property was a regular hunting fixture of the Greenspring Valley Hounds and served as the original location of the Maryland Hunt Cup. Today, Summerfield Stables offers full care stall board, field board, and retirement board. Our operation is capped at 12 horses (6 stall boarders and 6 field boarders). Our distinctive stone stables were designed to stay cool in the summer and retain heat in the winter, with very large, matted stalls and fans.
