Thank you to Apocalypse Farm And Sanctuary for helping us get Fizz out of the horrible space she was in very quickly and gave her a clean, caring, ATTENTIVE, and loving environment. She needed it so bad. All she wanted to play fetch and be with humans, get energy out. She spent SO much time alone in small horrific conditions. She listens SO well and learns quickly like Carly says and I am just so happy for Fizz. What's said is Carly ended up with 3 dogs from the same litter from the same backyard breeder. Fizz's brother was at Apocolypse when we brought her there, they were happily reunited and playing fetch the first night. But that's sad, and guess what? This backyard breeder has more of the same puppies again. That poor mama, I wish we could save her. And guess what else. Apparently the people who abandoned Fizz have a new puppy/dog and a cat. But abandoned Fizz who is an amazingly sweet, smart and extremely well behaved, and loving companion. Why? There's a crisis in Vermont and no where for these dogs to go. I thought Humane Societies always took in stray dogs but they don't, at all. UNLESS the dog is from the county they are located AND has vet records! Cause strays carry vet records with them? Or they expect the finder to have money to bring them to the vet first? So they do not help with strays and if they do agree to take your dog there's a long waiting list because all shelters and rescues are maxed out and there's no funding to expand. And the well known organizations that work under the gize of a human society get all the donations why all of us little guys are picking up the pieces with holes in our pockets. My partner and I work jobs just to keep our rescue afloat, luckily we have husbands who work hard otherwise we'd be screwed. If I were ever to be homeless you would see me homeless with my dog. I still dont understand why the camper couldn't he cleaned out for Fizz, at least. And she wasn't even being checked on every 24 hrs sometimes and still once a day for a dog, old water, old cheap dry food, yuck. She didnt even want treats, she just wanted to play fetch and be outside, go for a walk, have some attention. We fell in love with her instantly. I would have cleaned the camper our and lived in it with her had it been my dog/situation. Carly from Apocolypse has helped us this past summer with several dogs that came to us in in really bad shape and coming from deplorable conditions and if it wasn't for our collaboration and supporting each other where would these dogs be? I can't thank Carly enough for all she has done and she really is a miracle worker at times. Not many people can have 10 dogs live mostly harmoniously together in the same house, especially all rescues. It's a gift. So support your small rescues. Whether donations or becoming a foster home, we NEED both so bad!
