Catching up on all things from last week - congrats to all of the LRS riders who attended the VHSA The League Show. Midori Melvin and Linda’s Luck were Champion in their WT division and they made their debut over fences. Kristin McCann and Shot Girl attended their first show as a pair - walking away with Reserve in the WT division and had two lovely over fences courses. Emily Merkel and Spill the Tea are well on their way to ‘wow’ the hunter world as Chai put in all the extra effort over fences. In jumperland, Bonnie Greenslade and Future Prince kicked off the season with lovely rounds in the ribbons in the 2’3-2’6 jumpers. Roxy Hoveyda and Buffy Longfellow started their season in the 2’9-3’ jumpers with fabulous trips. Aubrey Prince and Lunarstrike clocked around the 2’9 jumpers like it was a walk in the park. Great rides. Good ponies. Working towards goals! Photos were far and few between - Mother Nature enjoyed gracing the weekend with lots of rain, chilly temps and wind. Excited for the 2025 season to get fully underway!

Maxine is just a doll and she is casually seeking a home as our show season ramps up. A fabulous home is a must otherwise she will be working towards RRP2025 with us!

Daring Max is a 2022, 16h TB mare that just wants to be someone's best friend. She is everything that there is to love in a mare - personable, enjoys attention, sensible and very easy going. Maxine loves attention and enjoys being groomed and doted on. Her ground manners are fantastic. Undersaddle she is very quiet and sensible. Maxine would make a great mount for someone seeking their first restart. She will be a super easy one to bring along. She is more 'whoa' than 'go'. Maxine has been lightly restarted - WTC and started over poles. She has a lovely natural balance and carriage. No vices. Currently barefoot. RRP eligible. Maxine will make up to be a lovely hunter type for an ammie or junior.

Long Crow

Crowe retired from racing the end of October 2024 after 26 starts and earning $142k. Crow enjoyed some much appreciated down time as he adjusted from track life to farm life - he has packed on the pounds and has very happily transitioned into his next chapter of his career. Crowe is an ammie's dream - easy on the eyes, polite on the ground and super responsive under saddle. Crowe is currently WTC and working over ground poles and small cross rails. His curious personality coupled with his willing to please attitude has made him a quick favorite in the barn. He easily turns out with other horses, he's not overly excitable in the field, he can sit for days and ride as if he hasn't missed a beat. Crowe is more whoa than go but has his own motor with very comfortable gaits. Crowe has a lovely way of going with natural balance and a big step. I can really see this guy cleaning up in a variety of disciplines. Crowe is 2025 RRP eligible. No vices. Crowe is slightly over at the knee. He does have small osselets which given his racing career are not abnormal and should not limit him in his second mid-level career.

This guy truly is a gem and wants to do all the good things for his person. He will make a lovely, lovely partner for someone looking for a pleasure or competitive mount.

Nora…. This mare is probably one of the classiest horses I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Her flatwork and rideability is insane considering she is only 3 years old. I’ve been on the fence about finding her a home - for the last 8 months. Every time I swing my leg over, I am reminded at how fantastic this mare is going to become. Her brain, work ethic, her level-headed’ness is just unreal. Business wise, I really hope that she eventually finds her person although I would totally be (secretly) okay if that person ends up being me.

🎄Has traveled off property and horse shown
❄️ More whoa than go but has an easy motor
🎄 Easy in the barn and undersaddle
❄️ Best suited for intermediate rider with goals
🎄Same ride regardless of days off

Nora has been one that I’ve struggled with really wanting to let go. This mare is just so classy and really aims to please. She’s been so much fun to bring along and I really see eating up the jumper, eventing or dressage worlds. Nora has been with us for about a year and her education has been brought along slowly and correctly.

No unsoundnesses. No vices - although she did stall walk at the track however we do not see that here.

Found her home for the holidays!

She’s so personable. She walks up to you in the field. She wants to be your best friend. She enjoys pleasing her person. She’s the same ride every day - even with a week off. Her manners are fantastic. She’s just the best egg.

For someone with show plans this spring, she is going to be more than a fantastic, competitive partner.

I’m baffled. Why is this lovely mare still on the hunt for her human?!

Anoria aka Nora
2021, 16.1+ TB mare

Nora is a gem. Nora has all the pieces in the making to be the a super competitive mount in the jumper, eventing or dressage world. She is built extremely uphill with 3 comfortable and adjustable gaits. She has a fantastic jump with changes and is incredibly brave to the fences. Given her age, her education has been slow and steady with a solid flat foundation. She is a bit more whoa than go however she maintains her motor with minimal encouragement.

She has been to three horse shows - she requires very minimal prep (a hack before ‘game time’) and is brave and willing to the fences. Nora made her rated debut with a week long stay at HITS Culpeper in July. Nora was unfazed by the road traffic, schooling ring traffic, new atmosphere and was ‘all business’ when it came time to get to work.

​She’s easy to load, easy to stable and easy to handle off property. She is was slated for RRP2024 but due to client and farm needs, I opted to not attend and instead give Nora a few months off to grow up and be a horse. Nora started back to work in November 2024 and is ready to continue her education.

No unsoundnesses. No vices - although she did stall walk at the track however we do not see that here. Nora is best suited for a solid intermediate rider working with a trainer.

High 4.
