Monday(3/10) leaving Aiken it was pouring rain which echoed our feelings about leaving. Such a fun, educational trip- can’t wait to return next year.

Sunday (3/9) we had a rated event at Full Gallop. Ayala had a very confidence boosting Starter round where Benji really found his gallop! Katie and Al had a move up to Training. A sub 30 dressage, clean show jumping, and a good xc run close to time tackling all the combos with ease.

Last dinner at the Willcox made for a really lovely end to our stay in Aiken.

Saturday (3/8) I took sales horse Ellie “LoveLikeCrazy” in a schooling dressage show. She laid down a great Third level test with a 61%- very proud of her after a 5 year hiatus from the show ring. Someone will be very lucky- this mare is seriously cool and so kind.

We did some more test prep for the horse trials on Sunday

This morning we visited Pam at the Bone Room and had a wonderful educational session learning about equine anatomy and all the research they are working on. Such an amazing experience and we can’t wait to return next year to learn more!

We followed up with some dressage and some horse swapping.

We had one really rainy morning on Wednesday followed by trot sets in the afternoon.

Thursday we got up early and watched some thoroughbreds breeze on track, followed by breakfast at the Track Kitchen. In the afternoon we headed to Jumping Branch Farm and did some XC schooling.

Another hack to Hitchcock Woods, we found the Memorial gate and Chalk Cliffs. In the afternoon we helped out a barn mate with her upper level horses at Bruce’s Field

We had a day off and explored Hopeland Gardens and a quick midday visit to check out the track- we will be back another morning to watch them breeze

Amazing Sunday at Sporting Days HT

Katie and Al had a fabulous double clear in Novice ending on a 25 for the win.

Ayala and Benji had a lovely dressage and a double clear round in a professional filled Starter division. Very proud of their rounds!
