Hi! I wanted to reach out and share an update. I recently spoke with the Texas Comptroller regarding a complaint that was filed concerning the taxability of dog boarding.

I was advised that dog boarding falls under the dog grooming category and is considered taxable in Texas. I explained that I had already refunded the three clients who were charged and immediately stopped collecting the tax while I looked into the matter.

She also clarified that I am able to add it back if I choose to do so.

I just wanted to pass along the information I received directly from the Texas Comptroller so everyone is aware. Thank you for your understanding!

🐾 A Friendly Reminder About Our Booking Requirements 🐾

We made a post earlier this week, but we wanted to send out a quick reminder regarding our requirements for all pets staying with us.

All pets must be current on their core vaccines, including:
• DAPPV
• Bordetella
• Rabies

One requirement that was not addressed in our previous post but is on our booking request form that every guest reads and signs, is our spay/neuter policy:

🐶 Dogs over 1 year of age must be spayed or neutered prior to any confirmed booking.

This is a firm requirement, and unfortunately, we will not be able to make exceptions.

We completely understand that there are some dogs who cannot be spayed or neutered due to medical conditions. However, if a dog is over 1 year old and remains unaltered, we unfortunately will not be able to accept or book their stay.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for all of our guests. ❤️

Effective immediately: Vaccine Records Required for Every Booking Request

Effective immediately, every booking request must include proof that your pet is current on all required vaccines.

I originally collected vaccine records when the emergency contact form was completed and then cross-checked them every time a new booking request came through. But y’all… I’m tired. 😂

So, we’re simplifying things.
If your pet is not current on vaccines, we cannot board them. Period. No exceptions.

This isn’t because we’re trying to be difficult or rude. We have multiple families staying with us, sometimes at the same time, and everyone deserves to have their pets in a safe and healthy environment.

You don’t want your pet getting sick, just like the other families don’t want their pets getting sick. And I definitely don’t want my personal pets getting sick either.

If your pet is not currently vaccinated:�Once you have an appointment scheduled and vaccines are brought up to date, we can book their stay 10–14 days after the vaccines are administered.

Please have your pet’s current vaccine records ready when submitting your booking request. This will help keep the booking process quicker and easier for everyone.
