Just finished up cutting some Beautiful Flowers to sell at tonight's First Friday Night Market in Hiawassee 5pm-9pm.

Come out and support us and other local vendors, stay for the music and food tucks! We have lots of goodies from the garden that will be available too!

We are sadden by the death of beloved Dixon. Dixon lost his owner in 2013 and has been in the care of Whiskers Project. The barn was his favorite place. He succumbed to mouth cancer. If you need a wonderful animal Crematory, "Deceased Pet Care" in Atlanta is outstanding.

season is upon us and we are doing our best to get to the long list of cats that need spaying and neutering. We have spayed and neutered 𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐒 𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑 𝐓𝐎 𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 and are hoping to get to the end of the list by December.

Other organizations that may help with TNR is Safe Pet Project in Blairsville or Tri State Spay Neuter Clinic in Murphy on Hwy 64. For emergency vet care, you can contact ARFS in Hiawassee.

Our program is not a FREE program. Donations are being accepted online at whiskersproject.org and by mail via check payable to Whiskers Project, POB 575, Blairsville 30514.

Most of these large cat colonies need food donations. If you can donate food, please email [email protected] or call1-888-872-9330.

Our latest TNR location was in Hiawassee. Thank you to Amanda from Atlanta for your donation to buy food at the Hiawassee location! We trapped 𝟒 𝐊𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐒 at this location and 𝐖𝐄 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐈𝐍 𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃 𝐎𝐅 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐎𝐑 𝐀𝐃𝐎𝐏𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒. Attached are location photos and the 2 kittens that need a foster or a home. Arnie is on the left, the bigger tabby and Jenny on the right. Arnie was tested positive FIV and is not life threatening. Daily doses of lysine powder boost the immune system. “WHISKERS PROJECT HELPING COMMUNITY CATS”

Ever since 2003, Whiskers Project has been a dominant force in reducing the homeless outdoor cat population through Trap, Neuter, Return. The phone calls for help from Blairsville and Hiawassee cat caretakers are daily. Our funds are limited and we need financial help to get to the end of the cat list by year end.

Our program has already spayed and neutered over a hundred cats this year. The program is not a Free program and donations for our services are smaller than the Vet cost. Our program is first come, first serve. There are many cats standing by waiting to get sterilized.

Your help is needed now. Whiskers Project is a private nonprofit organization, 501(c)3 and funding is supported by the public. Your tax deductible donation can be made online, www.whiskersproject.org or by mailing a check payable to Whiskers Project, POB 575 Blairsville, Ga., 30514. If you can help Spay or Neuter one cat in the Community to help others that cannot afford a donation, $50 or $100 per cat would be greatly appreciated. If you want to help in other ways, cat food donations can be made through Chewy.com on our Wish List for Whiskers Project. Volunteers are needed for trapping, fostering, fundraising and grant writing.

Please let your local Commissioners know we need financial grants from their county budgets. This will serve the public and help the many homeless kitten surrender rates to lessen the intake at local shelters. Our Mission is to help the overpopulation of homeless kittens. Your kindness is greatly appreciated.

📢 We are excited to start theme nights at the First Friday Night Market! Beginning with the June 6 First Friday Night Market, there will be a different theme for the evening. We encourage you to dress up to coordinate with each month's theme and join us at Town Square Park in downtown Hiawassee, Georgia for a fun, family-friendly night out! The First Friday Night Market is 5:00pm-9:00pm.

🏖 The June 6 theme is "Pirates, Beach, and Buffet"!!
Get your friends together and come out to support local businesses and artisans. There will be several food and drink vendors as well! Live music will be provided by Mountain Band.
