Sending a huge thank you to Castoff Pet Rescue Shelter and Thrift Store Blairsville. A bundle of six very young puppies with parvo were found abandoned in a basket Thursday night. We were in desperate need of a foster for the weekend to give these kids round the clock care, and Castoff's president Shannon stepped up herself. We've been working with Castoff since we opened, and they have never turned us down regardless of how busy or stretched thin they are. Shannon's compassion is endless. Please make a donation or see how you can volunteer today to help Castoff.

đ¨4th of July Pet Safety Tipsđ¨
Whether or not you're planning your own Independence Day celebration, it's important to take precautions to keep animals safe both during and after the festivities. Loud fireworks, unfamiliar places, and crowds can all be very frightening to pets, and there's a significant risk of pets becoming spooked and running away.
To help you and your furry friends enjoy a safe and stress-free holiday, here are some essential tips to keep in mind before, during, and after the big day.

đžPreparing in Advance:
- Make sure all your pets have identification tags with up-to-date information.
- If your pet(s) are microchipped, ensure your contact information in the microchip registry is current.
- Take a recent photo of all your cats and dogsâjust in case.
- If your pet has historically been anxious on this holiday, obtain any necessary medication before July 4th.
- Make sure the environment is safe and secure. If your neighbors set off fireworks unexpectedly, is your yard secure enough to keep your pet contained?

đSafety During July 4th Celebrations:
- Leave your pet(s) at home if possible.
- Put your pet(s) in a safe, escape-proof room or crate during parties and fireworks.
- Keep your pet(s) inside if you or your neighbors are setting off fireworks.
- Avoid the urge to feed your pets table scraps or other human food.
- Remember that too much sun and heat (and humidity!) can be dangerous to pets.

The word is out! Restorative Therapy is now 5 days a week! We have been building up to this since Dr. Stevenson and Brittany became certified in companion animal rehabilitation in 2023.
This change alters Dr. Stevensonâs and Brittany's focus slightly from appointments in general practice allowing them to hone in and continue to pursue integrative medicine and advanced management of conditions associated with mobility and chronic pain such as osteoarthritis. This advanced care is otherwise not available within a two hour drive from Blairsville.
Dr. Stevenson still operates and oversees the medical care for the entire hospital, and Brittany is still the Hospital Manager. In this way, we feel we get to touch every patient that walks through the door. We will always be available in this capacity, and we continue to work with the rescue community.
Check out our website, or give us a call for more info about all of the services available in Restorative Therapy!!

Nottely Oaks Animal Hospital (NOAH) was founded in 2018 by Dr. Lynn Stevenson and her husband, Paul Burges. Dr. Stevenson received a Masterâs degree in Philosophical Ethics followed by her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. She practiced veterinary medicine at a variety of hospitals, but it had always been her goal to create a dream practice based on her unique philosophy and principles surrounding ethical animal care. That opportunity finally presented itself in the form of a beautiful old church on 7.5 acres in Blairsville, Georgia in early 2018.
At Nottely Oaks Animal Hospital, we blend the latest knowledge, medical and technological advances in the field with true compassion and a local small town vibe. Every patient and client is unique, and we want you to feel welcome when you walk in the door. The dream is for NOAH to be a safe haven for the animals of this community and the people who love them. We practice fear-free medicine and utilize every strategy to make visits as easy and fun as possible for pets and people.
Not only do we provide full service medical care, but we also offer an upscale boarding facility. Features of our pet resort include extra-large canine condos, a feline playroom, large fenced in play yards for individual play, supervised group play, and hiking trails for our boarding dogs.
If you have questions, or simply want to reach out to Dr. Stevenson, please donât hesitate to contact us. Weâd love to hear from you! You can call us at (706) 623-NOAH (6624,) fax- (706) 503-5420, or email for information at: [email protected].
