It’s with a heavy heart that I write this post. I have been debating on how I wanted to navigate this, but I have decided to close down this page and North Georgia Shepherds. You may or may not have noticed that I haven’t posted much on here lately, but back in early December an incident occurred between Zeke and an Amazon delivery driver and I was told by the insurance company not to have any GSDs here. It was 100% not Zeke’s fault due to the circumstances and he thought he was just protecting me, but I do feel bad for the guy and understand his position as well. I was able to find Zeke a great home with a husband and wife who I worked with at the fire department and they love him dearly, but it definitely hurts my heart not to have him here with me. If you know of any Shepherds who need rescue, send me a message and I can put you in contact with other organizations that I collaborated with.

Lily’s backstory
Hi, I’m Lily, a beautiful and sweet 7 year old German Shepherd who loves people and other dogs. I’m house trained and playful, yet gentle and super loyal. My owner is elderly and recently had a fall. He needs to go to a rehabilitation facility for a month or two and desperately needs a loving foster home for me for awhile. Rico is a young neutered male GSD looking for his forever home. He was found out off a forest service road several months ago by a local deputy who took him in and got him healthy. He is great with kids, other dogs, and playful with cats but not aggressive. He is smart and loves to play ball. He has been taken to the vet and fully vaccinated. Bernstein (Bernie) is 14 months old. He was abandoned and picked up as a stray. He was emaciated and full of worms. We have vaccinated , dewormed, and gotten him tested for heartworm. He is negative. He will be neutered before adoption. He is great with other dogs and ignores cats. He loves everyone he meets. Contact 970-290-0248. Vet reference will be required for adopter as he was already neglected once. He needs a loving home.

I’ve had several people ask me if I had any rescues lately but lost track. Sweet Kimber (from our final litter) was returned to us because her family is having to move somewhere that doesn’t allow GSDs. They love her dearly and she’s been well taken care of. She has a great temperament and knows basic commands. She turned a year old in June.
