Star City SWVHJA Hunter Show III Recap 🏆

What a weekend for the McDonald Equine crew at the Star City SWVHJA Hunter Show! We are so proud of our horses, riders, and all the hard work that went into an incredible show. 🤍

🏆 Liz Hinds & Fergalicious were first in every .65m class!

🥈 Lilly Sembello & Handpainted Impression were Reserve Champion in the .75m.

🏆 Kayleigh Burke & Legally Blonde were first in every class they entered! Winning champion in the Low Hunters and winning the Derby.

🏆 Jennifer Hendrix & Ga***rd Captain secured a Champion in the Special Adults.

🥈 Kayleigh also rode Ga***rd Captain to a Reserve Champion in the Low Hunters.

🎉 Lindsay Klein & Casanova's Fiddler had a great showing in the Special Adults and even secured a 5th in the Derby!

🥈 Kat Hall & Chicago Man rode to Reserve Champion in the Hopeful Hunters and 3rd in the Mini Derby.

🥈 Cowboy Canvas, owned by McDonald Equine and shown by Anna Lucy were Reserve Champion in the Pony Pleasure at his first show ever! 🌟

🥈 Finally, Jaguar & Lacy Simpson were 2nd in both Cross Rail Jumper classes!

So many ribbons, so many milestones, and so many reasons to be proud. Congratulations to all of our riders and horses! We are incredibly grateful to our clients, supporters, and the entire team who make weekends like this possible. ❤️

We started Kayleigh’s birthday with a huge surprise!

There’s a lot happening behind the scenes at McDonald Equine, and we can’t wait to start sharing it with you! 🐴✨

New horses, new opportunities, exciting projects, and some big things in the works—we’ve been busy building something we’re really proud of.

Better late than never!

Last weekend was a LONG one at McDonald Equine as we hosted a Ranch Show on Saturday followed by a Hunter/Jumper (SWVHJA) show on Sunday. It was a busy weekend full of great rides, and we’re excited to share some of our Saturday Ranch Show highlights!

We are ready for the Star City (SWVHJA) Horse Show tomorrow at Green Hill Park Equestrian Center.
For those who may not know, we host both a Ranch Series and a Hunter/Jumper Series here in Southwest Virginia. Our goal is to create an affordable, fun, and welcoming environment where riders can learn, grow, compete, and enjoy time with their horses and community.

We are so grateful for the incredible support from our competitors, vendors, and sponsors who help make these shows possible. We couldn’t do it without you!

We have a saying around here:
“As soon as they’re fun, it’s time to sell them!” 😂

And man, have our personal horses been FUN lately. ❤️

So, if you’ve been looking for a safe, fun, well-rounded horse with a good brain, keep an eye out! We’ll have some of our personal horses coming available for sale soon.

It’s always bittersweet to sell the ones we’ve enjoyed so much, but we’re excited to find them their next people!

Monday morning practice at the arena! We are only a few days away from the Star City Ranch Series at Green Hill Park Equestrian Center in Salem, VA.

We are hosting this show series to try to help grow the sport in our area by hosting an affordable show for young horses and riders.
