This popped up on Dr. Sevignys feed on facebook this morning. This is a fraudulent product, yes Simparica Trio is a REAL flea/tick/heartworm preventative, BUT the one below is NOT authentic. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE use caution when buying any prevention that is not coming directly from your vet or if they don't require a prescription for you to purchase their product. Legitimate medications like this REQUIRES a prescription for a reason! Please reach out if you have any questions!

I am attaching a picture of what the box is supposed to look like for this same size for your reference. All boxes in every size are the same except for the photo of the dog and the weight range. Zoetis is the ONLY real manufacturer of Simparica and Simparica trio.

You see that tiny speck on the crease of my finger? Barely? That is a tick! We very often hear “I check my dog for ticks after walks” or “we mow the lawn” so we don’t need to put our pets on tick prevention. Unfortunately, ticks will find a way. Do you think you would have seen this little guy on a dark hair coat? Probably not! I was lucky to see what I thought was a speck of dirt start moving on my beagle’s white leg. Are you outside at all? There will be ticks! They love the mulch alongside the house, they’ll stand on short grass, heck, walk across a driveway in Maine and you’ll probably find a tick. I say this not to be snarky or scary but to highlight the importance of tick prevention. Ticks carry many dangerous diseases that can be life threatening to your pets, and we do not want to see your pet sick! We love them and want them to stay healthy, so, please please keep your pets on prevention year round.

Today is National Hug Your Cat Day! Remember, not all cats like to be hugged, so celebrate according to what your cat does enjoy whether that's scratches, grooming with a cat brush, treats, or extra play time. 😺
