Clear the Shelters Month is a chance to support local shelters as they work to help pets find safe, loving homes. Even small actions can help move more animals closer to adoption.

If you are ready to adopt, volunteer, donate, or simply spread the word, your support matters. Contact your local shelter or visit cleartheshelters.com to find a participating shelter near you.

This is what trust looks like. πŸ±β˜€οΈ

When your cat melts into your hand like that, it means they feel completely safe with you. That kind of bond takes time, patience, and a whole lot of love to build. Cherish it.

Summer is for exploring, and your pet deserves to be part of the adventure. Whether you are planning a road trip, a weekend away, or a visit to family, a little preparation goes a long way.

Pack familiar items to help your pet feel at ease in new places. Plan for regular breaks, fresh water, and a comfortable spot in the car. And before you hit the road, check in with your veterinary team to make sure your pet is ready for the journey.

🐾 Why Indoor Cats Still Need Regular Veterinary Care

One of the biggest myths about cats is that indoor cats don't need routine veterinary visits. The truth is, even cats that never go outside can develop health problems that benefit from early detection.

Indoor cats are still at risk for:
🐱 Dental disease
πŸ’™ Heart disease
🩺 Kidney disease
βš–οΈ Obesity
🦴 Arthritis
🩸 Diabetes

Annual (or twice-yearly for senior cats) wellness exams help your veterinarian monitor your cat's weight, teeth, heart, and overall health. Routine bloodwork can also identify hidden diseases before your cat shows any obvious symptoms.

Don't forget preventive care!
βœ”οΈ Keep vaccinations up to date based on your cat's lifestyle.
βœ”οΈ Use year-round parasite prevention as recommended by your veterinarian.
βœ”οΈ Maintain a healthy diet and encourage daily play to keep your cat active and mentally stimulated.

A healthy cat is often a happy catβ€”and regular checkups are one of the best ways to help your feline companion enjoy a longer, healthier life.

🐾 Prevention is always easier than treatment. Schedule your cat's next wellness exam today!

Hot tip for July 🌞🐱

Cats need more hydration in summer than most people realize, and many don't drink enough from a standard bowl. Try adding a little water to wet food, swapping to a shallow wide dish, or investing in a pet water fountain to keep things flowing.

Small changes, big difference for their health! πŸ’§

Most pet owners have thought about what they would grab in an emergency, but not everyone has included their pets in the plan.

July 15 is Pet Fire Safety Day, which is as perfect a time as any to take a few small steps now that could make a big difference later. Place a pet alert sticker on your window so responders know animals are inside. Keep a go-bag with food, water, and medical records near the door. And make sure your pet is part of every practice drill. Protecting your pet is part of protecting your home.
