I have never done a shout out to a “pet store” before but this place needs to have an appreciation post! If you didn’t already know, in moved to this beautiful giant building and has literally everything you need for every critter you can think of… but what makes them super special to me, is the amount of knowledge deep in co-owner Emily’s brain. She has helped me with every random question, internet search concern and became a friend to me whether she likes it or not 🤣🖤

It’s not everyday that rescues can talk to each other or ask questions… it seems more people are out to get each other or waiting for someone to fail instead of offering genuine help. Pure Pet goes above and beyond to make sure every pet owner knows what they need. They helped me so much over the past few months with exotic questions- it really is so special to me. I have said this many times, I am not a vet and I certainly don’t know everything.. I am still human, second guess myself and over think everything until I pass out from exhaustion each night. Having a place like this is so unique: from the critters, to the hand painted art work, the live plants, the resident birds and cats greeting you and don’t forget the large hanging bat decor at checkout! How could I not be obsessed with this place?!? If you haven’t been here- you really should go!

My wishlist Wednesday is that some how a miracle happens and I raise the funding needed for this pond project by next week. I still owe the company doing this job $11,000 and I just don’t have it in my personal budget. I have paid the down payment and half with my own money but I am now in the red. Although I heard that someone said “she gets everyone to pay and fix her property for her, must be nice” clearly that person has NO idea that nothing is mine. Everything I have, my life, my savings and my soul is for the animals. I have built this entire rescue by rubbing Pennies together and purchased the ranch with my funds- this was not given to me or bought for me or funded by the rescue donations.

I don’t think anyone understands how many calls I get every week to help with ducks. The need is here and I can’t help.

These two baby ducklings were dropped off this morning before I could get my chores done or set up the correct enclosure. Two emails asking for help with ducks and chickens found abandoned, another message from a woman found domesticated ducks dumped in the park hiding in a tree trunk… a man left a message late last night asking for help with two of his drakes (males) and these requests are just from this month alone. I simply can not take anything else until this pond is safer, rip wrapped and has an aeration system in place. Who is going to run the electric? Who is going to deliver the shed they need to be safe at night from predators? That all costs money. Folks just want me to take them and they forget how much goes into their care, food and safety.

I love ducks- I would take all of them. But without help, I can’t help. Ducks are filthy and the amount of p**p and sludge and destruction they cause would ruin this idea before it even happened. I am trying to give these fellas a second chance AND do it correctly!

Can you donate any amount towards this project? I am hoping for $100+ sponsored spots towards this project and I’ll list every name that helped make this possible on the duck hut.

This project has been postponed since August. Help me Help them! Please! 🦆🪿

📣🐇 Skip to the last paragraph if you don’t feel like reading 🤣🖤 I missed Sunday Bunday because I needed a pajama day of rest after dancing in heels all night at our last Rocky Horror Picture Show Fundraiser! Munday Bunday also works!

A handful of applications have actually come in for Bunnies since doing my podcast with the Youngstown studio! So -that was a huge help, but I still need YOU! As you may or may not know I am not just a bunny Rescue, I am all unwanted exotic, domestic and farm pets located in Berlin Center, Ohio 🐾

I have 240 animals right now that were once loved by families who purchased them and then could no longer care for them. Most of these critters come with zero supplies or Donation$.
I have also helped other rescues in the area, some driving over 3 hours to get here.

I have taken animals from 5 Humane agencies who have asked for my help this year and many do not have the supplies or donations towards vet care to give either, which is why they needed my help in the first place. This is not slowing down anytime soon and I also know what it’s like to see another rescue asking for more help when we all barely have enough gas to get to work! That’s why I’m not asking for anything today! Did you read this far?!?

📣🎁 If you work at or own a business, that would be interested in setting up a Donation tree or supply box for the ranch for the holidays- please, please, please let me know! I am not doing any fundraisers for the rest of the year after the basket raffle November 7th because I truly need a break, but that doesn’t mean these critters stop eating and needing constant supplies! I will provide everything- the supply tub or box, the tree, the tags, or just a printed QR code and list of needed items- I just need the places willing to help the Ranch!

Ok folks and just like that, we are on to the next one! Our very last event of the year is the 2nd annual “Fall” & holiday Basket Raffle at The Manor
🐾🍁Saturday Nov 7th Noon-4pm

When our friends over at Pure Cycle heard that was our only fundraiser left, they reached out and asked if they could host a very special Bunny Yoga session Sunday Nov 8th at 10am! Bring your own mat and you must RSVP through them so the instructor can keep track of how many spots are available!

🎈As always, Thanks to Penguin City - Youngstown, OH for having us, making this dream come to life, the staff putting up with me and my need for too many balloons, the bands Weird Paul Petroskey and With No Chance Colin Polombi and my friends showing up in costume wanting to be a part of all this! To all of YOU for letting me be myself, supporting what I do, letting go of responsibilities for one night and having a little kooky spooky fun! I really do love every single one of you. Don’t Dream It, Be It!
