Hi everyone!

I am considering offering riding lessons again. These lessons would be $50 for an hour & in that hour your child (or you!) would learn all about the foundation of riding, how to care for them, etc. I have horses & miniature ponies for all levels of experience! Everyone is welcome from beginner up to very experienced.

All around the world it seems there’s more negativity than positivity. This is so upsetting to me, because you never know what someone is going through. Everyone is learning the ropes of the world at their own pace.

One of the biggest places I see negativity is sadly in the horse world. I will forever congratulate the 8th place winner just as much as I congratulate the 1st place winner. Everyone is trying their hardest to meet their own personal goals.

Someone may be riding a green horse when they’re green themselves, sometimes someone rides a finished horse when their green, sometimes someone rides a green horse when their finished. Moral of the story, everyone is learning at their own pace. We as a community should be kind to everyone, no matter what skill level they are.

Be a good human.

So as you all probably know, I brought home “Luke” last week. I was aware that he had a lumpy knee but was to be sound while taking Equioxx for it. All around, he was supposedly sound if he was taking it.

Dr. Reeser of Lisbon Veterinary Clinic came out today & gave me some sad news. She said that he probably has some type of arthritis starting & should be ridden for light to mild trails/beginner riding even while taking Equioxx.

The vet said that he can take Equioxx as something to make him feel more comfortable, but it is not a solution to his problems. He will not get better, & will probably need to be a pasture ornament within 7 years.

This is obviously not the news that I was expecting to hear, as I had plans to work with him for ranch riding & rodeo events. He is one of the sweetest horses & loves to be loved on.

He will be up for sale soon. He will be sold as a horse that can do light riding, leadline classes, etc. He is not for rodeo & rough riding events.

To my lesson families -

With me taking on a new position at the school in addition to a full slate of college courses myself, I need to take a break from a full schedule of giving lessons. I have enjoyed my time helping your children learn and hope that they have found it valuable as well.

If you’d like to continue with lessons, please let me know and I will happily recommend some really good teachers in our area.
