Historic inequities and systemic exclusions have shaped a reality where hunger isn’t experienced equally.

In our region, Black, Indigenous, and Communities of Color, immigrants and refugees, single moms and caregivers, and trans and gender-expansive individuals are two to three times more likely to face hunger and poverty.

At Around the Bend Farms, we recognize this imbalance and we act on it. From partnering with Warm Springs community members to ensuring our food reaches those most impacted, we’re working toward a more just and equitable food system for all.

In 2024, the Oregon Food Bank Network distributed over 91 million meals—nearly 110 million pounds of food, across the state.

That’s not just numbers. That’s nourishment, dignity, and connection showing up where it’s needed most.

Food is a human right and together, we’re making sure more Oregonians have access to it. 💪🌱

In 2024, Oregonians made 2.5 million visits to food assistance sites.
That’s 2.5 million acts of resilience, families prioritizing health, neighbors supporting neighbors, and communities using the tools available to stay strong. Every visit reflects resourcefulness. Every visit is someone taking action to care for themselves and those they love.

We are excited to say, the two bee boxes on our farm are off to a strong start, with each hive currently housing over 20,000 bees. If all goes well, we are expecting that number to grow to upwards of 40,000 - 60,000 bees per hive by the end of the growing season.

We've been busy at our madras farm. Just pulled our first harvest of green onions, lettuce, cilantro, and carrots. It's only the beginning, with longer sunny days ahead, we’re excited to kick off our most ambitious growing season yet. Stay tuned there’s plenty more to come!

🌱 It’s here! The 2025 farming season has officially begun at Around the Bend Farms! Things are picking up quickly, and we could use your support.

We’re currently in need of farm tool donations to help us gear up for a successful season. Specifically, we’re looking for:
🔹 Shovels
🔹 Hoes
🔹 Hand weeders
🔹 Gloves of all sizes, especially for kids and big kids!
