Time for the Baseline Personalities Update for the Liberty and Raider litter.
Please keep in mind that the following information is based on observations made in a controlled environment at specific developmental stages. The traits of the puppies may change as they have new experiences in different environments.
Males: 2 spots currently open
Blaze – This little boy is the absolute sweetest boy with a bit of a firecracker side! Blaze loves to be a part of most things going on, but especially if it involves interacting with people. Blaze was initially picked on by his littermates and still deals with it on occasion. He is the smallest puppy of the litter so it kind of goes with the territory at this age. Blaze has been consistently getting better and better at standing up for himself and as a result his self-confidence has improved significantly. Right now, you probably wouldn’t realize that he was a picked-on puppy. Blaze is a pretty confident little boy that enjoys exploring new places and obstacles. He also doesn’t hesitate to go after anything that he wants to play with. Blaze has also started to initiate wrestling matches with his bigger brothers. Blaze is a very people focused puppy and goes out of his way to interact. Blaze loves to get tummy rubs and face smooshes. He rolls around and bats at my hands and will also climb in my lap to fall asleep. Overall I would say Blaze is a middle energy puppy that is a nice mix of think first or just jump right in. He plays in bursts but even when full of energy will take breaks to get loved on or observe what is going on around him. He seems to equally enjoy the various wings, Dokken bumpers and all types of toys. Blaze has so much potential and could easily go any direction! He does have a small umbilical hernia that may close on its own. It is too small to be an issue for his health. In the unlikely event where it would need a stitch to be closed, I will put it in the contract that I will reimburse for the cost to do it.
Brick – Brick is the biggest puppy of the litter and just tends to grab your eyes. He is usually a jump right in kind of puppy, but I have seen him think first too. Brick tends to be very confident and usually just goes after whatever he wants. He loves the wings and all sorts of toys/bumpers. Brick is also pretty observant. There have been quite a few times where I have seen him sitting or laying on a side line just watching what is going on around him. He has also watched birds in the sky too. Brick is the kind of puppy I swear you can see figuring things out. It is kind of hard to peg his energy level, just because he does play hard and tends to last longer than many of his littermates, but he also can be very calm. Brick has a bit more of an independent side to him than some of the others. He enjoys exploring and doesn’t need his siblings around for him to investigate something farther away. He is very responsive when called and does like to check in on his own too. Brick likes to get attention and interact with people, he is just not as in your face about it. He will often wait until the others are off doing something before he will come in for attention. When he comes to interact, he is pretty sweet about it. Brick often just sits and looks at me or lays down by my side rather than climb up in my lap. When I pet him he will often roll over on his own for tummy and leg rubs. Brick has the drive to be an awesome hunting dog, but I think he will be equally nice as a family companion too!
Bungie – Bungie has always been a puppy that seems to be happy all the time. He reminds me so much of Raider in this. Just happy go lucky and wanting to be involved in everything going on. He is curious and outgoing. Loves the wings, bumpers and all types of toys. Bungie is usually a jump right in puppy and he also has no problem going off on his own to explore but comes back either on his own or when called. Bungie has awesome eye contact and will go out of his way to connect with the people around him. Bungie is a middle to higher energy puppy. He has always been interactive when it comes to playing, but more recently he has realized that he loves getting loved on too.
Frost – Frost is one of the more chill boys in the litter. Don’t get me wrong, he plays and he plays hard. He just likes to take lots of breaks for pets and observation. Frost is funny in how he will come up and just sit looking at me. If I don’t immediately acknowledge him, he will either put a foot on my leg or try to climb in my lap. Frost is a very nice mix of think first and will also jump right in. Frost also has a tenacious side and will do whatever it takes to get the thing he is trying to get. Frost is also an observer of what is going on around him. He is a puppy you can literally see figuring things out. He loves the wings, bumpers and all sorts of toys. Frost is a puppy that I could see going so many directions. He has plenty of drive, but also a very natural on/off to him already.
Patriot – Patriot is an absolutely beautiful boy that has made the biggest change in the last couple of weeks. Patriot was initially a big thinker..as in sometimes over thinking things. As I worked with the litter in multiple new areas and in different environments, he has overcome the over thinking. Now Patriot will sometimes just jump right in and other times he will pause first. Now he is often leading the litter in many of our adventure walks. Patriot has always had a tenacious side and would put his problem-solving tendencies into action by climbing out of the box. There were a couple of mornings I found him in the room with Liberty and not in the whelping box with the other puppies. Patriot has moved from being on the lower end of the litter hierarchy to being one of the top puppies. He doesn’t let anyone pick on him and if he starts to pick on another puppy, he will stop if they let him know to stop. It is safe to say that Patriot is a very smart puppy and learns quickly. Patriot absolutely loves the wings, bumpers and toys. He has a very nice natural carry and will strut around with his trophies. Patriot is also observant and loves a good cuddle. He just tends to wait to come in for attention until most of the other puppies have moved on to doing something else. Patriot is a middle to high energy puppy that will be an awesome working dog and companion!
Smores – Smores has been a standout puppy from the start! Smores was the first puppy to climb out of the whelping box and then leave the room entirely. He is very curious, confident and just plain smart. Smores is definitely a jump right in kind of puppy with an outgoing personality. He is also very similar to Raider in how he seems happy all the time about pretty much everything. Smores loves the wings, toys and bumpers. He gets so proud of himself and tends to prance around with an object that he “won” or found. Smores is a middle to higher energy puppy, but still comes over for attention when full of energy. Smores is super affectionate and very social. Even when full of energy, Smores will come over and roll around for pets. He definitely has a very nice natural on/off already. Sometimes Smores will try to climb in my lap and other times he likes to sit and look at me. He also has great eye contact. Smores was initially consistently the first puppy to do anything new or explore a new area. Now that the others are also confident like him, he is either still leading or right in the mix of them. Smores has no problem going of to explore something new and take on bigger obstacles. He really seems to enjoy the more challenging things. Yet when he takes on a new obstacle he doesn’t just plow through it, he can take his time. Smores is a more middle energy puppy with normal bursts of energy. Smores is the kind of puppy that could go pretty much any direction. Extremely smart, driven and yet about to still calm down and be your best buddy.
Females – 1 spot currently open
Pink –Miss Pink is the largest of the females but otherwise right in the middle of most other things. Pink is very well balanced all the way around. She usually just jumps right in, but I have also seen her think first. She seems to equally enjoy the various wings, toys and bumpers. Pink absolutely loves people and is super sweet. She is generally more gentle in how she goes about asking for attention. Sometimes Miss Pink will sit nicely and other times she climbs right up. She is a puppy that will go off to play and explore, but always seems to know where I am and will stay within a range. Pink is one of the puppies that has been off doing something and then suddenly is right next to me. I would say she is a middle energy puppy but also has a very nice natural on/off to her too. I suspect that Pink is going to bond very quickly with her person/family and have the ability to do whatever they want work wise and then be an amazing companion the rest of the time. Pink has the traits often desired for hunting/hunt testing, but also a service work type of temperament. She tends to just go with the flow and takes things in stride.
Purple – Miss Purple is the female that is just always so happy and is a part of everything. She is definitely a jump right in kind of girl and is usually one of the first puppies to start and the last to stop. She is the girl that has been consistently the first of the three girls to try something new. Miss Purple is the smallest of the girls, but the way she is always a part of whatever is going on plus her can-do attitude she just doesn’t seem like the smallest female. Miss Purple loves the wings, bumpers and various toys. She loves to carry things around and brings things to me on her own. Miss Purple is super social and oh so sweet. She absolutely loves people and goes well out of her way to interact multiple times during each play session or adventure walk. Miss Purple is not the highest on the litter hierarchy because she is so sweet, but she definitely holds her own when others try to pick on her or take her wings or toys. Purple also takes breaks during play sessions to also get and give affection. She enjoys a good cuddle. Miss Purple is the kind of puppy that will do best with some sort of job to focus her energy. Otherwise she will be an amazing companion too!
Yellow – Miss Yellow is one of those puppies that just tends to draw your eyes. She is super adorable and her mannerisms make you smile. Yellow is one of the milder puppies of the litter, but she gets so enthusiastic. Don’t get me wrong, she definitely plays hard. She just doesn’t tend to last nearly as long as most of the others. Yellow is a bit more of a think first girl but is starting to jump right in more often. Miss Yellow also really didn’t have much of an interest in the wings until the last few days. Previously she would gravitate towards playing with the various toys and small Dokken bumpers. In the last few days, she has started to show an interest in the wings and has been playing with and carrying them around. Yellow is just a bit larger than Purple, but she also has been holding her own when it comes to her littermates. Yellow is very smart and has shown problem solving tendencies on multiple occasions. She is super curious, observant and has wandered off on her own on a couple of occasions on our adventure walks. Yellow is right in fashion with the rest of the litter and absolutely loves people. She never misses an opportunity to interact and get some loves. Sometimes she will vie with the others to try to get attention first and other times she seems to wait for her turn. Yellow has amazing eye contact and is a puppy that really tries to connect with people. Yellow is a puppy that I think would to very well in a working home, but I think also could do well in an active family home.
