🐾❤️ TEAM PORKY!! THIS BOY HAD THE BEST DAY! 🎉

Porky went on his special Fill Their Buckets adventure to Menards today, and he absolutely loved it! 🛒🐾

He explored all the new sights, sounds, and smells and took his toy shopping VERY seriously! 😂 He sniffed through all the toys and bones until he found just the right ones! He even brought several new toys back to enjoy in his room! 🦴❤️

These outings are so much more than just a fun day! Getting our rescue babies out into new environments provides valuable enrichment, helps build confidence, and gives them opportunities to experience life outside of the facility. Every experience is another step in their rehabilitation journey. ❤️

Thanks to the incredible support from , this lucky boy gets TWO special field trips! 🎉 His next adventure will be a trip to the park later this week! 🌳

🎃EVERY SINGLE BUCKET IS FULL!! WE DID IT!!🐾

We are absolutely blown away by the love and generosity our community has shown the babies in our rehabilitation program! 🥹❤️

When we launched our Fill Their Buckets fundraiser, we set a goal of $1,000. Thanks to all of YOU, we didn't just meet that goal… we raised over $1,400!! 🎉🐾

Every single one of our rescue babies will get a special outing and a new toy or treat, and thanks to the additional funds raised, we're able to do even MORE!

Some of our babies will enjoy a second field trip, while others will receive extra special treats or enrichment activities. Each experience will be tailored to where that particular dog is in their rehabilitation journey and what will benefit them most. ❤️

For the dogs in our program, these outings are so much more than just a fun day. They're opportunities to build confidence, experience new environments, practice skills, and continue making progress toward their second chances.

We want to give a very special THANK YOU to the wonderful people and businesses who made this possible! 🧡

A scared dog and an aggressive dog can look a lot alike if you do not know what you are looking at.

Dogs tell us how they are feeling long before a growl or a bite. Learning to read the early signals helps every dog, in a shelter, in a foster home, or in your own living room.

Common signs a dog is stressed or afraid:

- Tucked tail
- Lip licking (no food around)
- Yawning (not tired)
- "Whale eye," whites of the eyes showing
- Turning away
- Freezing

These signals do not make a dog a bad dog. They mean a dog is asking for space, and respecting that request is how you keep things from escalating. A fearful dog who gets that space, and time, is a dog who can learn to feel safe again.

If you see these signals, the best response is usually the simplest one: back off, lower the pressure, and let the dog decide when they are ready.

Fall sunshine looks good on Duke! 🍂🐾

Duke enjoyed a trip to Minor Park with Kayla today, soaking up the beautiful weather and exploring outside the facility. New smells, fresh air, and special one-on-one time made for a wonderful day! 💛

Thank you, Kayla, for your dedication to the pets in our program. They are lucky to have you in their corner, and we are so lucky to have you on our team!

Duke is such a good boy when in his room and loves his toys—especially his stuffies! 🧸 We would love to see him enjoying those comforts in a home of his own.

💔 90 DAYS. And they're still waiting for someone to come back. 💔

90 days ago, on July 27th, Summer and Murdoch were dropped off at Lily's Rescue Rehab. The only life they had ever known was gone, and they had absolutely no idea why.

Their humans' lives moved forward. But Summer and Murdoch's lives stood still.

For the first couple of weeks, these babies were confused, withdrawn and depressed. Every time they came out of their room, they looked toward the door. When we took them outside, they would sit at the gate, just watching and waiting.

Waiting for the people they loved. Waiting for the life they remembered. Waiting for someone to come back for them. 💔

And watching that kind of heartbreak is something you never get used to.

Summer is 12 years old. Murdoch is 8. They have spent their entire lives together, in the same home, with the same family. Until one day, through absolutely no fault of their own, everything changed.

And now, 90 days later, they're still here.

A couple of weeks ago, we discovered that Summer had cancer in her neck. We were able to have it removed by the wonderful team Belton Animal Clinic & Exotic Care Center, and thankfully, she is recovering well. But at 12 years old, this sweet girl should be spending her days curled up on a comfortable couch, surrounded by love, with Murdoch right beside her.

Not waiting in a rehabilitation facility for a family to choose them.

The hardest part is knowing that the life they're waiting for isn't coming back. The people they once knew aren't walking back through that gate.

But maybe, just maybe, someone out there can give them a life even better than the one they lost. ❤️

A home where they can finally exhale. Where they don't have to wonder what's next. Where they can fall asleep together knowing they are safe, loved, and HOME.

Summer and Murdoch are wonderful with people and previously lived with children and cats. We can arrange dog testing for interested families.

These babies are a bonded pair and cannot be separated. They've already lost so much. They deserve to have each other for whatever time they have left.

We love Summer and Murdoch dearly. We love caring for them, comforting them, and watching them slowly find happiness again. But no matter how much love we pour into them, we know this is not where they belong.

90 days is too long. And for a 12-year-old girl and her 8-year-old best friend, every single day matters.

🙏 We are asking our community to please help us find these babies a soft place to land. Whether that's a foster home or a forever family, they deserve to spend their days being someone's whole world again.

Over 10 months. That’s how long Porky waited in a small rural shelter in Oklahoma for someone to choose him. 💔

He arrived with two housemates. One was adopted. One was euthanized. Porky was the only one still waiting, and due to overcrowding, his euthanasia date was set for October 12, 2026.

On October 1, 2026, Rebecca Jane Tubbs reached out from Sand Springs, Oklahoma, pleading for help. After speaking with our team to see if we could all come together to support another pup, we decided we could make it happen with the shelters support.
October 14, 2026, Porky walked through our doors. 💙🐾

Look at his first week of a second chance! New experiences, enrichment, training, and opportunities to let his personality shine.

Porky needs some basic obedience and help with his manners, but we see a wonderful future family companion. Overcrowding wasn’t his fault. He deserved the time and opportunity to get here.

This is why we created Lily’s Rescue Rehab—to be a resource for shelters facing incredibly difficult decisions and give deserving pets the extra time, care and support they need to show their best selves in order to find their forever home.

Brad Pitt’s second chance is unfolding one brave step at a time, thanks to everyone who came together to support this boy and help him heal, grow, and learn to trust. With the support of Wilkes Rescue Group, Adopt Rescue Foster and Lily’s Rescue Rehab, Brad is getting the patience, care, and guidance he needs. 💙 💙

Since arriving from North Carolina in March, being around other dogs has not even been an option for Brad due to his reactivity. With consistent support, training, enrichment, treatment from 4 Paws Rejuvenation - Quality of Life Pet Care and plenty of time to adjust, he has been making steady progress.

Yesterday, Brad reached an encouraging milestone: for the first time since being in our care, he was able to get close to another dog. When Smelly approached, Brad remained calm and relaxed, appearing comfortable enough to enjoy the moment. 🥹🐾

This is an incredible step for Brad, but he still needs someone who understands that trust and confidence take time. He is looking for a patient, dog-savvy adopter who will celebrate his progress, respect his boundaries, and give him the consistency and support he needs to continue growing.

Brad is available for adoption and would do best in a calm home with no other pets or small children.

🐾❤️ THIS is what progress looks like. Meet Austin! ❤️🐾

Austin has spent the majority of his life in shelters. His past has made him guarded, slow to trust, and hesitant to let others into his world.

But look at this boy now! 🥹❤️

Thanks to everyone who helped FILL AUSTIN’S BUCKET, he got to enjoy a special field trip to Menards, and what we witnessed was incredible!

New people, shopping carts, unfamiliar objects, even the Grinch! 🎄💚 And Austin didn't react with fear. He was curious, calm, and taking it all in!

For some dogs, a trip to the store might seem like nothing special. For Austin, this is HUGE.

His second-chance journey has been slow, but moments like these remind us why we do what we do. Progress doesn't always happen quickly, but it IS happening. ❤️
