Help! We are lucky enough to have a distributor that has donated us pallets of litter as they have had it, such an incredible help to our mission! However, its now been months that they have not been able to donate, so we have got to purchase our own. The TSC has a litter that we can purchase a pallet of and have it delivered but we need to raise $800 to get it. FB didnt want me to post all in one update, so there are two, so make sure you see them both. She is recovering but still has a ways to go. We are going to need to find a veterinary dental specialist to work on her mouth, yes specialist, its quite a mess in there but she is eating soft pate like a champ. There is inflammation under her tongue and so much inside that is the reason, she is giving raspberries! Most of her tight mats have been removed. Her bloodwork looks great considering her condition and she is Negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV (that is great news that her recovery will not be impeded by those immune suppressing virus'. All in all, she is still skittish but if you see the video in the other post.......you can see her making biscuits while she is being loved on. We are so grateful to have been able to rescue her, thank you for all the help!!! You are an amazing village! *cyndi

MY NEIGHBOR LEFT HER CAT BEHIND BECAUSE HER NEW BOYFRIEND "DIDN’T LIKE CATS" - I TOOK HER IN AND WILL NEVER BETRAY HER
I was shocked when I heard the news. My neighbor, who had this sweet, loving cat for years, moved in with her new boyfriend and left her cat outside to fend for herself. The reason? He “didn’t like cats.”
For weeks, I watched Bella wander the streets, confused and scared, clearly waiting for her owner to return. It broke my heart. One cold, rainy night, I couldn’t take it anymore and brought her inside. She was skinny, shivering, and desperate for love. Now, Bella is curled up on my couch, purring peacefully, safe and loved.
How can anyone prioritize a relationship over a loyal, trusting companion? Would you give up your pet for a partner who didn’t accept them? We desperately need your help.

Aphrodite’s story is one of heartbreaking resilience. A couple of months ago, we learned about her—alone, suffering, and barely clinging to life. A kind-hearted caller tried to catch her, but she was so afraid, so fragile, that it took time. Finally, on Thursday, he managed to secure her, and we brought her into the shelter. What we saw left us shattered.

Her tiny body was consumed by filth and neglect. She was barely recognizable as the cat she once was. Our hearts ached as we took in the sight of her—the mats in her fur so thick they were like armor, her frail frame weighing less than five pounds, her mouth so swollen and inflamed that her little tongue couldn’t even stay inside. Was there even an eye behind that swollen, shut third eyelid? We didn’t know.

Thankfully, our incredible vet at made space for her first thing Friday morning. They did a full work-up, shaving as much of her matted fur as she could tolerate before giving her a much-needed break. But we are in a holding pattern now, waiting for test results before we can safely sedate her to remove the rest of the painful mats.

How long has she endured this agony? How has she managed to survive, utterly helpless and in constant pain? It took effort just to get her to eat—it must be excruciating for her. And yet, despite everything, she wants to live. She hasn’t given up, and we won’t either.

But we can’t do this alone.

Aphrodite has fought to survive for so long, and now it’s our turn to fight for her. We need your support to give her a second chance. Every donation, no matter how small, helps us get her the care she so desperately needs.
