🐾 FMAR is looking for a few passionate, thoughtful people to join our Board of Directors and help shape what comes next for FMAR. ❤️

We’re looking for people who love animals, believe in our mission, and want to be active members of the community. People who are willing to show up, build relationships, make connections, represent FMAR, and help more people understand and support the work we do. 🤝

You don’t need to be an animal rescue expert. Our board is stronger when people bring different skills, experiences and perspectives — whether that’s fundraising, finance, marketing, business, HR, legal, events, nonprofit leadership or simply a strong connection to our local community. 💡

Board service isn’t just about attending meetings. It’s about being an ambassador for FMAR, opening doors, strengthening community partnerships and helping build a strong future for the animals and people we serve. 🐶🐱

🐾 Dora is back and looking for the perfect family! 🐾

Dora is almost 1 year old, but don’t let her age fool you—this girl is still VERY MUCH A PUPPY! 😂 She is energetic, playful, smart, affectionate and ready to learn, but she needs a family prepared for what puppyhood really means.

💙 Dora needs a home that will provide:
🏃‍♀️ Plenty of exercise
🧠 Daily mental enrichment
🎓 Training, structure & boundaries
❤️ Patience & consistency
🏡 A commitment to stick with her through the learning curve

🐶 Have a playful, dog-friendly pup at home? Even better! Dora is a fantastic playgroup dog and absolutely LOVES canine friends. A dog sibling could be a wonderful outlet for her energy.

Dora can be nervous in new situations and may need time to warm up, but once she trusts you, she is ALL about the cuddles. 🥰

Dora isn’t a finished product—she’s a young dog who needs someone willing to help her become the amazing dog she’s capable of being.

She’s had enough starting over. 💔 She needs the right family who will finally give her the consistency and commitment she deserves.

🐾 HAPPY TAILS, TEDDY! 🐾

Our sweet Clyde has a new name and a brand-new life! ❤️ From now on, he’s officially Teddy! 🥰

After being found with his sister by a Good Samaritan and arriving at FMAR, it didn’t take long for adoption applications to start pouring in for this very good boy! 🐶💙 And honestly, we can see why. Teddy is one special young guy with a whole lot of love to give. 🐾

(His sister is also headed off to a trial adoption this week! 🤞❤️)

Janet, Mike and Ally were the lucky family who got to take Teddy home, and we couldn’t be happier for all of them! 🏡🥰

Walt got ADOPTED today—and we think he found exactly where he belongs! 💙

Two little boys were ready for their very first pet, and of course, Walt stepped right up to fill that very important role. 🥹🐶

The boys already have the names down:
💙 Walt is his given name.
🎾 Wally is his name when he’s playing and snuggling.
😂 Walter is his name when he’s in trouble.

These three got to know each other very well! 🥰

We have a feeling there will be plenty of adventures, snuggles, giggles and happy memories ahead. We can’t wait for all the updates! 🏡❤️

It’s been over a month since Louie headed off to his foster home, and we’ve been learning more and more about this sweet, playful guy! 💙

Here’s the latest from his foster family:

🏃 Loves going for walks and runs
🤗 Loves his cuddles
🧸 Carries his squeaky toys everywhere
🥏 Would happily play Frisbee ALL. DAY. LONG.
🐕 Loves playing with his foster dog sibling, Delta
🍽️ Still working on those table manners — Louie is a professional counter cruiser! 😂

Louie is clearly a guy who loves to stay busy, have fun, and be close to his people. Now he just needs a forever family to join in on the fun! 🏡💕

🎉 HAPPY TAILS, PONCHO! 🐾

Today is a very special day for Poncho! 🥰 After everything this sweet boy has been through, he has officially found his forever home! 🏡❤️

Poncho came to FMAR from C.H.A.I.N.E.D. Inc. in June 2025. From the moment he arrived, all of our volunteers fell in love with him—but one volunteer in particular, Kim, had a very special connection with Poncho. 🥹💕

Kim decided to foster Poncho, and after many, many months of loving him, getting to know him and making him part of her family, she and her husband realized something very important…

They simply couldn't live without him! ❤️🐶

Poncho started out in a yard in Detroit, and look at him now! 🥹 He has gone from wondering where he belonged to finding his way to a loving forever home with Kim and her husband. 🏡🌳💕

Sometimes the best endings are the ones that happen right in front of us. Poncho didn't just find a home… he found his people. ❤️

Congratulations, Poncho! Your happily-ever-after is finally here! 🎉🐾
