Please help find Bluey a home!

Bluey is wondering where his person or family is? Bluey is a sweet distinguished fellow at the mature age of 10 years old. Blue doesn’t ask for much… a slow walk (not because he can’t move, he just prefers a leisurely pace), a little time sitting outside with you (he enjoys the simple things in life), and a lap to lay his head on (he loves to snuggle). Bluey does prefer to be the only pet in his home. He doesn’t mind other dogs or cats, but he just doesn’t want to live with them. Bluey hasn’t seen the best in life. He was brought to the shelter twice because his owners were arrested and there was no place for him to go. The shelter saw how special he was and begged for someone to save him. Dogs like Bluey don’t make it out of the shelter very often. But we saw something special in him too. Please help us find him his perfect person or family. We don’t want to let Bluey down. He’s a good boy with so much love and life left in him. Let’s show Bluey that dreams really do come true and that he’s deserving of a family to call his own. Please share Bluey 💙. To ensure timely fulfillment of medications, prescription diets, and preventatives, we kindly ask that all pharmacy requests be submitted no later than 10:00 AM on Friday, April 18th. This will allow adequate time for preparation and pickup prior to closing at 6 PM.

In the event of a medical emergency during our closure, we recommend seeking immediate care at your nearest emergency veterinary facility.

Meet Bluey 💙. Bluey is a sweet and snuggly 10 year young boy, hoping to find his perfect companion to spend his lazy days and cozy nights with. Blue is a big fan of leisurely walks, napping and snuggling with his favorite people. Bluey prefers a home where he can be the one and only pet. He’s fine around other dogs and cats, but he does not want to live with them. Bluey has not had the best luck. He was taken to the shelter two times because his owners were arrested. He had no one to love him, no one to take him in. All Bluey wants is to lay his sweet head in a loving and familiar lap. Let’s show Bluey that he deserves a home where he can feel the love that he’s never really known. Please share our sweet boy 💙. There is nothing like gaining the love of an older dog. Please help find Bluey a home or foster! 💙

Have you ever had a dog that just looked into your eyes and reached your soul? That’s our friend Bluey 💙. Blue hasn’t had the best life. We don’t really know a whole lot about what his life was like. All we know is that he ended up in the NYCACC shelter twice; both times were because his owners were arrested and he had nowhere else to go. Both times the volunteers and staff fell in love with Bluey. We understand why. Blue is a 10 year old big boy who loves to snuggle. He loves simple things like naps on the couch, the warm sunshine on his face, and most of all….the company of his people. We couldn’t resist this sweet face and one of our volunteers brought him into her home. He’s done really well, but we found out that Bluey would prefer a home as an only pet. He gets along with other animals, but long term; his ideal home is one where he can have the space to himself along with his people. We want to set Bluey up for success. We want him to feel like he really does matter to a family. He want him to know that he deserves a family to call his own. We have begged for people to share Blue so that we can find him his forever home or someone who is willing to foster him for us in a pet free home. You see there is a reality for Bluey. If we return Blue to the shelter, it won’t be a three times a charm deal; it will be a three strikes and you’re out. We are determined to not let Bluey down. But we need everyone’s help…. We need someone who can help us by fostering or adopting him and agreeing to love Bluey for the rest of his life. Once you meet Blue, you will see just how easy it is to love him.
