Despite the rainy, chilly weather, we had a blast at our SeaHorse Spring Schooling Show! Thank you to all the helpers💕 The cleaners and the trainers, the judges and announcers. The peppermint passers, the riders, the boot shiners and the clappers; all for the love of the horse, the connection, and the show. Congratulations and good luck with the rest of your season!

We have some seriously dedicated young horsefolk! It's been too cold for the horses to work throughout a lot of January, so Meghan teaches unmounted lessons. Fridays we hold a 'Pony Group of SeaHorse Stables' class and they have not missed a day! When we can't ride, her students have been learning care and maintenance of the farm and horses through games and education. To name a few things covered: anatomy, what a horse can see and where, bits, stall care, tack care, bridle assembly, history of the sport, feeding, lunging, and of course- just how heavy a bale of hay and a bag of grain are!

Seahorse Stables is proud to announce our acceptance as a USHJA Registered Riding Academy! Our focus on teaching the correct position, and emphasis on horsemanship, sportsmanship and safety, aligns with the educational initiatives prioritized by the USHJA. We look forward to continuing to grow and expanding opportunities for our riders.

Our college students are home!! It's always so wonderful to have them at the barn during vacation (even if we can see our breath and the horse's during lessons!)

On October 9th, 2024, we gave our final treats and our last hugs to our dear and dedicated Harvey, our beloved Mr.Shenanigans. This is such a heartbreaking goodbye to the horse that has been with us since we opened our doors. We were so lucky to have his earnest demeanor to guide so many from their first canter, first jump, first trot, all the way to their first blue ribbon. He could, and would! do it all. A trickster, a champion, a major goof willing to go anywhere (as long as there weren't any cows!). Thank you Harvey, for giving your all, for as long as you could❤️❤️❤️

Special Olympics, 2024! What an uplifting event🌟 The number of athletes was up to 43! (having gone way down since Covid). Congratulations to ⭐️Tori and Eyebrows, Annie and Eyebrows, Sarah and Cinnamon, Brandi and Cinnamon and Lucas and Cinnamon⭐️ Excellent riding, team! And I am so proud how how much you all support each other and your friends at other barns. Thank you Special Olympics Maine Equestrian Competition for giving us such a special day🩵
