Ace is ready. Ready to play, ready to explore, ready to go on an adventure, and most importantly, ready to find his person.

This goofy, energetic guy is looking for an active home that can keep up with him. Fetch, hiking, running, swimming… Ace is always up for it. He’d do best with teenagers and no cats or little kids.

Ace gets plenty of outings with our staff and volunteers, from walks and hikes in the woods to playtime in the yard, but what he really needs is a home of his own. This nice, fun, energetic, and goofy guy is looking for an active family who can keep up with him. Fetch, hiking, running, swimming… Ace is always up for it.

His play style can be a lot for most dogs, so he may do best as the only dog or with a dog friend who matches his energy. He’d also do best with teenagers and no cats or little kids.

95 animals found their forever homes in August!

We’re so grateful to Hill’s Pet Nutrition for helping make Clear the Shelters Month such a success. Thanks to their support, more shelter pets had the opportunity to find the families they’ve been waiting for.

UPDATE: Jolene and Peewee have been adopted!

Meet Dolly Parton, Jolene, and Peewee ❤️

This little family came to us as strays, with Dolly Parton caring for her two kittens, Jolene and Peewee. While we may not know much about where they came from, we do know Dolly has been a sweet, social mom and a wonderful mother to her babies.

We named this trio after the one and only Dolly Parton as a tribute to her incredible legacy. Beyond her music and philanthropy, Dolly always had a soft spot for animals and used her platform to advocate for their well-being.

Hi, I'm Ace (formerly known as Jax), and I'm a 2-year-old handsome mutt who is completely geared up for my next adventure!

What does the world look like when you can’t hear it? For Princess, cars drive by without making a sound. People walk past without footsteps. The world around her is quieter than it is for most of us.

At just 4 months old, Princess is already 45 pounds and has a whole lot of life ahead of her. She’s a deaf Dogo Argentino who is learning how to navigate the world in her own way, and she needs a family who is willing to learn right alongside her. She is learning sign language, working on her training and socialization, and looking for someone who will help her grow into the incredible dog she’s meant to be.

St. Anselm First Year Day of Service

Today, ARLNH welcomed about 20 Saint Anselm College students for their First Year Day of Service! The students spent the afternoon helping in so many different ways, tackling laundry, making enrichment for our small animals, rebagging food for our pantry, cleaning up our gardens, socializing with animals, and even walking dogs with our Behavior Specialist.

Their hard work and enthusiasm made a real difference for our staff, volunteers, and animals. Thank you, St. Anselm College, for spending the afternoon with us!
